Creek hotels to Meydan, one loop.

Deira is a longer run to the racecourse than Downtown is, and a group often stays in more than one hotel there. Read the public options first. A private vehicle is for the party that wants one pick-up plan and one late-night return.

The date and the course

The Dubai Racing Club race calendar marks Saturday 27 March 2027 as Dubai World Cup night. The club says the meeting is held on the last Saturday of March, and 27 March is that Saturday. We write the date as scheduled. The club has not yet published a 2027 event page with a programme, gate times or ticket categories, so we do not print any. Register or buy only through the club at dubairacingclub.com. We sell no tickets and no hospitality.

Meydan Racecourse is in Nad Al Sheba. On its Plan Your Day page the club gives the address as Al Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba 1, and says the track is approximately 10 kilometres from Downtown Dubai, a 10-minute drive from Dubai World Trade Centre and about 20 minutes from the Mall of the Emirates. It also says ample parking is provided on site.

Those club figures are free-flow figures for an ordinary day. Race night is not an ordinary day, and the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) said as much in its 2025 advisory, which told drivers to expect traffic congestion.

How far it is from Deira

We ran the route with a public router on OpenStreetMap data, starting from the Deira City Centre area. The result is a model, with no race traffic in it, so treat it as the shortest honest answer and add time on the day.

StartDistance to MeydanFree-flow time (modelled)How we word it
Deira City Centre areaabout 16 kmabout 25 minutesabout 20 to 30 minutes, longer on race day
Downtown Dubai, for comparisonabout 11 kmabout 19 minutesabout 15 to 25 minutes

So Deira is roughly five to ten minutes further out than Downtown on a quiet road. On a heavy evening that gap can swallow a lot more, because the same roads fill for everyone leaving the city at once. Hotels along the Creek will sit a little either side of the Deira figure. Tell us the hotel name and we plan from the door.

The public options, before ours

Start with what the authorities and the club run. We are not the club’s or the RTA’s transport provider, and nothing on this page replaces their notices.

  • The RTA advisory for the 2025 meeting recommended public transport, ran public buses to the venue from 11:00 am and set up free shuttle buses from Dubai Falcon Hospital to the racecourse. It also said taxis dropped off and picked up at the Gate B ramp. That was 2025. Check the RTA’s notice for 2027 when it appears.
  • The same advisory gave road directions: Sheikh Zayed Road to Exit 47, then Al Meydan Road towards Nad Al Sheba. These were the 2025 directions, so look for the current ones before you rely on them.
  • A taxi is the simplest choice for one or two people. Our note on taxis against a private car explains where each one fits, without quoting fares.
  • We could not find any Metro station at the track in the club’s or the RTA’s pages. Do not plan around a Metro link until one of them names it.

The club’s own page covers travel by car or taxi and nothing more, so the 2027 arrangements for buses, shuttles and taxi points are simply not published yet. The club and the RTA decide them, and the club publishes gate times closer to the day.

Why a Deira group plans differently

A party that stays around Deira and the Creek is often spread across two or three hotels: a family in one, friends in another, a business guest in a third. Separate taxis mean separate arrival times, and the whole group has to reassemble at the course. One vehicle, with a driver who has the list of stops, turns that into a single loop.

The loop is simple to describe. The driver collects at each hotel in the order we agree with you, then drives to Meydan together. After the racing the same driver, or a second one for a large party, brings everyone back to the same hotels in reverse order. We confirm the stop order and the hotel entrances with you in writing, and nobody has to find a car in a crowd of cars.

If your party is split on timing, say so. Some people go early for the afternoon races, some come after work. Two vehicles at two times is a normal request, and the hourly chauffeur service suits a party that wants a car and driver on call rather than a single drop.

Timing and the late exit

The 2027 gate times and race times are not published. As precedent only, in 2026 the club opened Gate 1 for the general public at 12:00 pm and the hospitality gates at 1:00 pm. The first race was at 3:45 pm, the Dubai World Cup race at 8:45 pm and a UAE tribute at 9:10 pm, according to the club’s 2026 guide booklet. That is a long day under floodlights that ends late. Your ticket names the gate you use, so read it before the day.

Two planning points follow. Leave Deira earlier than the free-flow figure suggests, and allow for a security check just inside the gate, which the club described in 2026. And do not book a fixed return time you cannot keep. We set a collection point with you, we agree a window rather than a minute, and the driver waits for your message. If you want to see how we think about a late finish at another big evening, our late-night exit plan shows the same approach.

We cannot tell you where a coach or van may stop at Meydan, because the club and the RTA have not published coach drop-off, waiting or parking rules. We agree the drop-off and collection point with you and check the club’s and the RTA’s current notice before the day. We never promise a gate-side bay.

Choosing the vehicle

For four to six guests the Mercedes V-Class is the usual choice. A party of eight to thirteen fits the 13-seater van, and the Mercedes Sprinter gives more room for hats, bags and garment covers. A club or company group of 20 or more can use the 30-seater mini coach. Larger vehicles depend on where the club allows them to stop, which is why we ask early.

Many of the same questions appear in our event transport page and in the sports team and tournament guide, which both cover how a group booking is built.

What to wear, and who to ask

The club publishes a dress code for the grandstand, and it can refuse entry. Read it on the club’s Plan Your Day page before you pack, because it is the club’s rule and not ours. We simply allow a hat in the vehicle.

Entry rules for your passport are a matter for the official UAE government pages, and your own government may publish travel advice. We do not give visa advice.

Asking for a quote

Send the number of guests, the names of the hotels, which race you want to be at and a rough finish time. We reply with a fixed written quote before you accept anything. Use the booking page. December to March is peak season, so the larger vehicles go first.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

When is the Dubai World Cup in 2027?

The Dubai Racing Club calendar marks Saturday 27 March 2027. The club has not yet published a 2027 event page, so gate times and the programme are not known. Check dubairacingclub.com.

How long is the drive from Deira to Meydan?

Our model gives about 16 km and approximately 25 minutes in free flow from the Deira City Centre area. We word it as about 20 to 30 minutes and expect longer on race night. The club says Meydan is a 10-minute drive from Dubai World Trade Centre.

Is there a Metro to Meydan?

We found no Metro station at the track in the club’s or the RTA’s pages, so we do not tell guests to plan around one. Check the RTA’s current notice for public buses and shuttles.

What did the RTA run for the 2025 meeting?

In 2025 it recommended public transport, ran public buses from 11:00 am and free shuttle buses from Dubai Falcon Hospital, and used the Gate B ramp for taxis. That is 2025 precedent only. Look for the 2027 notice.

Can your coach drop us at the gate?

We do not promise that. The club and the RTA have not published coach drop-off or parking rules for 2027. We agree the point with you and check their notice before the day.

Do you sell tickets or hospitality?

No. Tickets and hospitality come from the Dubai Racing Club only. We provide the vehicle and the driver, and we are not the club’s or the RTA’s transport provider.

How do we get back after the last race?

The driver meets you at the collection point we agree in advance and brings you to each hotel in turn. We set a window, not a minute, because the club’s 2026 programme ran past 9:00 pm and the roads fill as everyone leaves.

How much does a vehicle cost?

Ask for a fixed written quote. It depends on the date, the number of hotels, the group size and the hours, and we put it in writing before you accept.
