Meydan is close. The finish is the plan.
From the central hotels the racecourse is one of the shortest drives in the city. The harder questions are what the Dubai Racing Club lets you wear at the gate and how you get back after the last race. Public options first, then where a private vehicle fits.

What is confirmed, and what is not yet
The Dubai Racing Club race calendar marks Saturday 27 March 2027 as the Dubai World Cup fixture, and the club describes the meeting as held on the last Saturday of March. That is the date we use. The club has not yet published a 2027 event page, so gate times, the race-day schedule, ticket categories and any transport plan are all still to come.
| Question | What we can say today |
|---|---|
| Date | Saturday 27 March 2027, from the club calendar |
| Venue | Meydan Racecourse, Nad Al Sheba |
| Gate times in 2027 | Not published. The club releases them closer to the day |
| Race times in 2027 | Not published |

Please do not read the 2026 times as 2027 times. We show them so you can see the shape of the day: a long afternoon, a first race, a main race after dark. Tickets come from Dubai Racing Club at dubairacingclub.com. We sell no tickets, hospitality or entry.

Get a quoteHow short the run really is
The club says Meydan is approximately 10 km from Downtown Dubai and just a 10-minute drive from Dubai World Trade Centre. Our own route model, built on OpenStreetMap data with no traffic in it, puts the road at about 11 km from both Downtown and Business Bay, which works out at roughly 15 to 25 minutes. DIFC sits between those two hotel areas and the World Trade Centre, but we have not modelled it separately, so we price that pick-up from the actual hotel when you ask.
Those numbers describe a quiet road. On race day many thousands of people head for the same gates in the same few hours, and the RTA said as much in 2025 when it advised drivers to expect traffic congestion. A short distance becomes a variable time. Treat the figures as the floor.
The public options, before any private one
You have real choices that cost us nothing to describe, so we describe them first.
- Taxi. The Dubai Racing Club’s Plan Your Day page lists car or taxi as the ways to reach the racecourse. In 2025 the RTA said taxis would drop off and collect at the Gate B ramp. Whether that holds in 2027 is the RTA’s call, not ours.
- RTA public transport. For the 2025 meeting the RTA recommended public transport, ran public buses to the venue from 11:00 am and ran free shuttle buses from Dubai Falcon Hospital to the racecourse. That is 2025 precedent. Look for the current RTA advisory in March 2027.
- Driving yourself. The club says ample parking is provided on site. In 2025 the RTA gave road directions from Sheikh Zayed Road onto Al Meydan Road. We do not repeat exit numbers as 2027 directions. Read the current notice.
One thing we could not find: any Metro station at the track named by the club or the RTA. Do not plan a Metro-only route to the gate until one is published.
The dress code is part of the transport plan
This is the question overseas visitors ask most, and the web gives mixed answers. One national newspaper described the day as having no formal dress code. The Dubai Racing Club’s own page says a code applies. We follow the club.
On the club’s Plan Your Day page and in its 2026 guide, gentlemen wear smart attire or national dress. Ladies wear smart attire or national dress, with modest dress or skirt length, and hats are encouraged. The grandstand does not admit shorts, sportswear of any type, torn or ripped jeans, torn clothing, open-neck t-shirts, tank tops, trainers or flip-flops. The 2026 booklet also listed denim of any kind, which the web page does not, so read the current guide. Guests aged 12 and over follow the same code, and the club can refuse entry.
Here is why it matters for a hotel pick-up. A group that dresses in the lobby, steps into a vehicle at the door and steps out near the gate arrives as it left. A group that takes a crowded queue or a long walk in the heat arrives in a different state. We make no claim about what the gate staff will decide. We only say that a door-to-door pick-up leaves one less thing to arrange on the day.
Planning the return after a late finish
In 2026 the World Cup race was at 8:45 PM and a tribute followed at 9:10 PM. If 2027 is similar, the last people leave after dark and in one wave. Taxis will be in demand, and the RTA warned about congestion in 2025.
For a central hotel the drive back is short, so the delay is the wait, not the road. A pre-booked vehicle can have a named collection point agreed in advance and a driver who knows the party’s hotel. We do not promise a collection time to the minute, because the exit is not ours to control. We agree the drop-off and collection points with you and check the club’s and the RTA’s current notice before the day.
If a late dinner is planned in the city afterwards, tell us. An hourly chauffeur booking can cover the gap better than two separate transfers.
Where a private vehicle fits
We are Dubai Bus Services, a private company. We are not the Dubai Racing Club’s transport provider and not appointed by the RTA, and the club runs its own arrangements for the day.
A private vehicle suits a party that wants to leave together, from one hotel or two, at a time it chose. That might be a business group staying around Downtown, a family of six, or friends from three countries on one booking. Seat sizes run from the Mercedes V-Class for a small party to the 13-seater van, with larger groups taken by the 30-seater mini coach. Companies hosting clients can read how our corporate chauffeur and VIP events services work.
If you are flying in, the airport to Downtown transfer page explains the arrival side. Our Downtown to the Sevens guide shows how we handle another big evening event from the same hotels.
Asking for a quote
Send the date, the hotel, the number of people, the time you want to be at the gate once the club publishes it, and the return plan. We reply with a fixed written quote before you accept. Use the booking page. March is peak season, so larger vehicles go early. Check your own government’s travel advice before you book, and the official UAE page for entry rules. We do not give visa advice.
