Leaving the Sevens, with the whole group.

Getting into the Emirates Dubai 7s is a matter of tickets. Getting out is a matter of timing. Thousands of people want a bus, a taxi or a car at the same moment, and a group of ten that has lost two people has already started the night badly.

The rules that frame the evening

The organisers set two evening rules for all three days: last entry to the site is 8pm, and there is no entry or re-entry after 9pm. Before 9pm, a guest can leave and come back with the digital ticket. After 9pm, whoever leaves is out for the night.

That has a practical effect on a group. A person who steps out at 9.15pm to find a taxi or a cash machine cannot rejoin the others. The nearest cash machines are about 10 km away at Dubai Outlet Mall, according to the stadium’s own FAQ, and the event wallet in the app is used for food and drink. So phones and wallets need to be charged and topped up before dark.

The programme runs late. The last Saturday pool match starts at 8:22pm. On Sunday the men’s and women’s finals start at 19:35, followed by the trophy presentation. We could not find a finish time for either evening, and we do not guess one. Outdoor kids’ cinema, for ages 4 to 16, runs from 6pm to 9pm, so families often leave earlier.

Your three ways out, and where each one is

The organisers’ travel page and FAQ describe three exits from the site. All three are near the main exit, which tells you where the crowd goes.

The buses run on all three days from 7pm to 1.30am, every 15 minutes. A bus around 1.30am is a last resort, not a plan.

All three are clustered around the main exit, so they share the same crowd. A pre-booked vehicle is the fourth choice, and the one that does not queue behind the other three.

A meeting point plan for a group

The bus station and the taxi rank are both through the arch. That corner will be the busiest part of the site after the last match, so we suggest that a group does not choose it as the meeting point.

What works is simple. Decide the meeting point before you enter, not after the final whistle. Pick something easy to describe by message: a gate, a fixed sign, a food stall near the exit. Agree it with the driver the day before, and send the driver a pin. If the stadium sets a particular spot for private vehicles, the driver confirms it against the organiser’s current notice. We do not promise where a coach may stop.

  • Name the group leader and one deputy. Both save the driver’s number.
  • Agree a time to meet that is after the trophy presentation, not at the final point.
  • Everyone sends a message when they leave the stands, so the driver knows who is coming.
  • If someone is lost, they go to the agreed point and not to the arch.
  • If the plan fails, the free bus and the taxi rank are the fallback, and the group leader says so in advance.

Timing the exit

There are two honest ways to leave a big evening. Leave before the end, or leave after the crowd. The first suits groups with young children or an early flight. The second suits a group that wants the full show and does not mind sitting for twenty minutes.

A vehicle can be booked either way. A driver who waits for the group stays on the clock, so the quote lists the hours. If the group wants to beat the queue, the driver can be at the agreed spot at a set time, and the group walks out a little earlier. If the group wants the full ending, the written quote leaves a margin for a long final.

Whatever the plan, give your driver a fallback time. Something like: if we have not messaged by 11pm, call the group leader. That removes the stress for the driver and the group.

Phones, tickets and the small things

Almost everything runs on a phone: the ticket, the food wallet, the ride-hailing app, the driver’s message and the map. A flat battery is the single most common cause of a messy exit. Bring a charged power bank, since there are no lockers and a backpack is scanned.

Tickets are digital in the event app wallet. Printed tickets are not accepted and screenshots do not scan. A person who leaves before 9pm and returns needs the app to open. Do not wait until the entry lane to log in.

Make sure the group knows where the vehicle is going. A hotel name in the app is not enough for a driver. Give a pin and a phone number.

Which vehicle

A group of five to seven can use a Mercedes V-Class, ten to thirteen fits the 13-seater van, and up to sixteen the Mercedes Sprinter. Larger parties suit the 30-seater mini coach or 50-seater coach. If the pick-up is near midnight, ask for the written quote to show the hours, which is how our hourly chauffeur work is priced.

We are an independent private-vehicle company and not an official or appointed provider. We do not sell tickets. For the earlier part of the weekend, our group transport guide sets out the whole picture, and the event transport page covers other nights. Use the booking page and ask for a fixed written quote.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

What time do the free buses stop?

The organisers list free buses from the stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, every 15 minutes from 7pm to 1.30am. They go to DMCC Metro in JLT, Sports City, Studio City, Financial Centre Metro in DIFC and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

Where is the taxi rank?

The organisers say the RTA taxi rank is to the right of the main exit, under the arch, with signs for TAXI. App rides use a separate Drop Off and Pick Up Only point close to the main entrance.

Can we come back in if we leave?

Earlier in the day, yes, with the digital ticket. The organisers say last entry is 8pm and there is no entry or re-entry after 9pm.

When do the Sunday finals start?

The men’s and women’s finals start from 19:35, and the trophy presentation follows in the evening. We found no official finish time.

Where should the group meet the driver?

Not at the arch, where the buses and taxis queue. Agree a point with the driver beforehand and check it against the organiser’s current notice. We do not assume where a coach may stop. The group transport guide covers the options.

Can the vehicle wait through the match?

That depends on the stadium’s arrangements for coaches, which we have not seen. A driver can instead come back at an agreed time. See our hourly chauffeur page for how waiting time is quoted.

Is there a bus to Sharjah or Abu Dhabi?

No. The organiser’s stops are all in Dubai. A group going further needs its own vehicle. See Abu Dhabi transfers for the longer run.

Can a party bus take us home?

A coach can carry a group, but the stadium’s coach rules decide where it stops. Read about the party bus if a lively return is the aim, and ask for a written quote.
