A squad has to arrive together, with its kit, at a time the referee does not negotiate. Here is how coaches and minibuses are sized and timed for teams in Dubai, from a weekend tournament to a week-long tour.

A team is not an ordinary group. It has twenty bags that weigh more than they look, a schedule fixed by someone else, and a coach who watches the clock. Add heat, a hotel across the city from the pitch and a fixture list that can change the night before, and the transport becomes part of the preparation.
We supply vehicles with drivers for teams of every size and age, and we plan the day backwards from the whistle. The price is per vehicle, so a full squad costs less per head than a half-empty one.

Get a quoteTeams often fly in on one flight, or on two a few hours apart, with kit bags, ball bags and equipment on top of personal luggage. A bag of kit takes about the space of a large suitcase, and some, such as bat bags or hockey sticks, take more. Count the bags before you count the seats.
A 13-seater van carries about 10 bags, the Sprinter 12, a 30-seater mini coach about 20 and a 50-seater coach about 50. A squad of 18 with a bag each and a few shared equipment bags needs the mini coach, even though 18 people would fit a Sprinter. Our group airport transfer page has the numbers and explains how arrivals are met at DXB and DWC.
If your squad lands in two waves, the driver can wait for the second flight and take everyone together.
Most team sport in Dubai happens in a few clusters. Dubai Sports City and the neighbouring areas of Dubailand hold stadiums, academies and training grounds. Meydan has venues of its own. Club and school pitches are spread right across the city, from Al Quoz to the edge of the desert. Many tournaments use several grounds in one weekend.
Outside the peaks, expect around 25 to 35 minutes from Dubai Marina to Dubai Sports City and 35 to 45 minutes from Deira, depending on the route. Match days run into the school-run and rush-hour windows on weekdays, and Fridays and weekends move differently. A venue that looks close on the map is not always close at half past four.
Ask the organiser where coaches can drop off and park. Larger venues follow an access plan, and some grounds need a vehicle pass in advance. Send us the plan and the driver works to it.
From October to April the weather is kind to sport. From June to September it is not, and organisers move kick-offs to the early morning or the evening. Both change the transport: an 8am start means a 6am departure, and an evening start means a late return.
In the hot months the vehicle matters more. The driver keeps the air conditioning running while players cool down before the journey home, and a coach parked near the warm-up area gives the squad somewhere to sit between sessions.
If a match runs to extra time, the vehicle waits. Time past the booked hours is charged at the hourly rate on your quote, with no surcharge for evenings or public holidays.
Start with the kick-off and subtract. The numbers below are a typical shape for an afternoon fixture. Your coach will have their own, so use theirs.
After the match the group stays together, cools down and eats, and the vehicle leaves on the coach’s signal, not on the clock. A fixed departure time after the final whistle does not work for teams. Plan for the drive to start at least 20 to 30 minutes after the end of the match, and tell us if a presentation or a meal follows.
A tournament is a harder job than a single fixture. Several teams stay in different hotels, play on different pitches at times that move as results come in, and share one organiser who cannot manage individual coaches. There are two ways to run it.
| One vehicle per team | A shuttle loop | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Each team has its own vehicle and driver for the days it plays | Vehicles run a timetable between hotels and venues |
| Works well when | Teams stay in different areas and play at different times | Hotels and pitches are close and fixtures are fixed |
| Watch for | Cost if some teams have few matches | Teams waiting for a vehicle when fixtures change |
For youth tournaments we usually suggest one vehicle per team, because it keeps supervision simple and a late match does not delay anyone else. For a small adult tournament in one area, a loop can be cheaper. Ask the organiser how they manage late changes, and let us know a day before each day of play.
Children’s teams add supervision to the list. Tell us the number of players, the number of adults travelling and any child with particular needs. Every seat has a belt, the driver does not pull away until everyone is buckled in, and the group leader keeps a headcount at every stop. Our school trip bus rental page covers how we handle the supervision and the sizing.
Agree a drop-off point away from the car park where parents arrive, and the pick-up point for the way back. A coach that is easy to find saves ten minutes after every match.
These are starting points. Check the bags, then check the seats.
If a group sits close to a limit, we suggest the next size up. Two teams sharing a vehicle sounds economical, but one of them will always want to leave first.
These are examples, not quotes. Prices use our starting day rates, which cover up to 10 hours within Dubai with driver and fuel. Tolls and parking are listed on your quote.
Example: a junior cricket tour, 15 players and 4 staff, five days. The hotel is in the Marina and the matches are at grounds in Dubai Sports City. One 30-seater mini coach, from AED 1,100 per day, so from AED 5,500 for the five days. The bat bags and the coaching kit ride in the holds.
Example: an amateur rugby club, 28 players and staff, two matches in a weekend. One 50-seater, from AED 1,450 per day, so from AED 2,900 for the two days. The squad is large enough that the mini coach would be tight with the bags.
Example: a four-team youth tournament, hotels in two areas. Two 30-seater mini coaches, one for each hotel, from AED 1,100 each per day. That is from AED 2,200 a day and from AED 4,400 over a two-day weekend.
Example: a club side with supporters on a match day. The team in a 30-seater mini coach (from AED 1,100) and the supporters in a 50-seater coach (from AED 1,450) come to from AED 2,550 for the day. Both go to the same ground and meet at the same point afterwards.
A team travels with managers, physios, parents and fans too. Fans can have a vehicle of their own, which keeps the team’s coach quiet before the match. For the ride home, agree one meeting point and one departure time.
For a wider event such as a league day or a corporate cup, our event transport page explains how multi-vehicle jobs are planned. If you need the vehicle for a whole camp or season, monthly bus rental covers a dedicated coach and driver.
Send it through the booking page, by email to info@dubaibusservices.com or on WhatsApp at +971 54 126 1681. A written quote follows, listing the vehicle, the hours and the tolls and parking, and nothing is charged until you confirm. The bus rental price guide lists every day rate with what it includes.
