Your reference
A private DWC airport transfer for a group is priced per vehicle, one way, and the quote lists the driver, fuel, Salik tolls, airport parking and the waiting allowance. If you want the vehicle for the whole day after landing, our day rates start from AED 900 per day for the 13-seater van and AED 1,450 per day for the 50-seater coach, for up to 10 hours within Dubai with driver and fuel.
Al Maktoum International sits in Dubai South, on the far side of the city from Dubai International (DXB). That changes the drive times, the sensible hotel areas and sometimes the vehicle, so it gets its own page. If your group lands at DXB, our group airport transfer page is the one to read.
Prices depend on the date and group size. Get yours in a minute.
Get my priceDWC has a single passenger terminal. There is no Terminal 1, 2 or 3 to mix up, and the walk from the baggage hall to the arrivals area is short. The airport handles far fewer passenger flights than DXB, so the arrivals hall is calmer and a driver holding a name board is easy to spot.
Our driver waits in arrivals with a board showing the group or company name, helps with the trolleys and walks everyone to the vehicle, which is parked a short walk away. For a coach, the driver tells the group leader where the coach is standing before the passengers come through, so nobody wanders off to the taxi rank.
One thing catches people out. Some tickets just say “Dubai” and the airport code is the only clue. DXB and DWC are around 60 km apart. Check the code on every ticket in the group, especially when people have booked their own flights. If half the group lands at DXB, tell us; we send a second vehicle there rather than drive everyone across the city.
Dubai South is close to Jebel Ali, Expo City and the newer communities along Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The coastal districts are next, and the old centre is furthest away. These are around the times outside the rush hours:
| From DWC to | Distance, about | Drive, around |
|---|---|---|
| Expo City Dubai | 10 km | 10 to 15 minutes |
| Dubai Marina, JBR and JLT | 30 to 35 km | 30 to 40 minutes |
| Palm Jumeirah | 40 km | 40 to 55 minutes |
| Downtown Dubai and DIFC | 50 to 55 km | 40 to 55 minutes |
| Deira and DXB | 60 km | 45 minutes to an hour |
| Abu Dhabi city | 100 km and more | around 1 hour 15 minutes |
Weekday peaks change the picture. Heading into the city in the morning, or anywhere along Sheikh Zayed Road from late afternoon, add 20 to 30 minutes and sometimes more. A late-evening arrival usually lands at the quick end of every range. Your quote is built on the real landing time, so we allow for the hour.
Size the vehicle on people and bags together. A group flying in for a conference travels light. A tour group on a ten-day trip does not.
| Group | Vehicle | Seats and bags |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 7 | Mercedes V-Class | 7 seats, 6 bags |
| 8 to 13 | 13-seater van | 13 seats, about 10 bags |
| 14 to 16 | Mercedes Sprinter | 16 seats, about 12 bags |
| 17 to 30 | Mini coach | 22 to 30 seats, about 20 bags |
| 31 to 50 | 50-seater coach | 50 seats, under-floor holds |
Our view: for a group of 12 with a suitcase each, the 13-seater van is tight once you add hand luggage and a pram. Take the Sprinter, or send a small luggage van behind the 13-seater. For 30 to 35 people, one 50-seater is simpler than a mini coach and a van: one vehicle, one driver, one arrival time at the hotel.
Example: an exhibition team of 9 going to Expo City. They land mid-morning and go straight to the stand with their kit. A 13-seater van takes them and the boxes, and the drive is around 10 to 15 minutes. They keep the van for the day, from AED 900 per day, and it takes them to a Marina hotel in the evening.
Example: a tour group of 34 staying at JLT. One 50-seater coach meets them in arrivals. The luggage goes under the floor, and the drive to the hotels is around 30 to 40 minutes. The tour leader gets the driver’s number the day before.
Example: a wedding party of 22 on two flights. The first flight lands an hour before the second. A mini coach waits for both, with the extra waiting written on the quote, and takes everyone to the same Palm Jumeirah hotel in around 40 to 55 minutes.
Example: a sports squad of 18 with kit bags. Eighteen people is more than the Sprinter seats, and kit bags take room. A mini coach does it in one run.
These are illustrations, not quotes. Your price is written on the quote for your date, vehicle and drop-off.
DWC is the closest airport to Expo City Dubai, so it suits exhibitors, event crews and delegates when their flights use it. Our Expo City Dubai page has the venue drop-off details, and event transport covers shuttle loops between hotels and venues for several days.
Hotels close to the airport, in Dubai South, Jebel Ali and around Expo City, are a short drive. Groups staying at the beach in the Marina or at JBR are around half an hour away, which is still shorter than the same trip from DXB.
Allow more time for the return than for the arrival. Most airlines ask for around three hours before an international departure. From the Marina or JLT, a pick-up around three and a half to four hours before the flight is a reasonable starting point. From Downtown, Deira or Sharjah, leave earlier, because the drive is longer and the roads out of the centre are slow in the peaks.
Tell us the flight time and we suggest a pick-up time on the quote. For a coach, we ask the hotel to bring the luggage down before the group checks out, so loading starts while people settle their bills.
Dubai has announced a large expansion of Al Maktoum International, with passenger flights moving across from DXB over the coming years. For now, most passenger flights still use DXB, and the airlines decide which airport they fly to. Plan by the airport on the ticket, not by the news.
If a flight is diverted from DXB to DWC, or the other way, message us on WhatsApp as soon as you know. We redirect the vehicle and adjust the timing.
Use the quote card on this page or the booking page, or WhatsApp +971 54 126 1681. Changes and cancellations follow the terms on your written quote. For coaches between October and April, two weeks’ notice is sensible.

Quick answers for this trip.
About 30 to 35 km. The drive takes around 30 to 40 minutes outside the rush hours, a little longer to JBR at busy times.
Around 60 km. The drive usually takes 45 minutes to an hour, and longer in the weekday peaks. Check the airport code on every ticket before you book.
One passenger terminal. Our driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name board, so there is no terminal number to confirm.
The Metro does not run into the DWC terminal. Travellers without a booked vehicle usually take a taxi or a bus, so check the current RTA routes before you fly. With a group and luggage, a booked van or coach is far easier.
It is quoted per vehicle, one way, with tolls, airport parking and the waiting allowance listed. If you keep the vehicle for the day, it starts from AED 900 per day for the 13-seater van and AED 1,450 per day for the 50-seater coach within Dubai.
Yes. The drive is around 10 to 15 minutes, which is why exhibitors and event crews like it when their airline flies there.
We track the flight, so the pick-up moves with the landing time and an airline delay does not use up your waiting allowance.
Yes. It is around 1 hour 15 minutes to Abu Dhabi city and is quoted as an intercity trip, with the Darb tolls listed on the quote.
