Why racing fans make this trip

The Dubai World Cup has an international history, and the Dubai Racing Club tells it on its About Us page. The first running was in 1996 and was won by the US horse Cigar. Japan took its first win in 2011 with a one-two, and won again in 2023. American winners include Arrogate in 2017 and Mystic Guide in 2021. In 2026, the 30th running, the US-trained Magnitude beat Japan’s Forever Young. So a fan from Tokyo, Louisville, Newmarket or Sydney is not a stranger at Meydan. Many are following a horse.

The meeting is scheduled for Saturday 27 March 2027, per the club’s race calendar. The club has not yet published a 2027 event page, so we give no gate times or programme. Tickets come only from the Dubai Racing Club at dubairacingclub.com. We sell no tickets and no hospitality, and any club hospitality is the club’s to sell.

The weekend at a glance

Your flights are your own business, and we have not researched schedules. This is a simple shape for the ground transport if you land on Thursday or Friday.

DayWhat you doWhat the vehicle does
Thursday 25 MarchLand, check in, restAirport meet and greet, then the hotel
Friday 26 MarchFree day, collect tickets, short outingOptional half day with a driver, or no vehicle
Saturday 27 MarchRace day at MeydanHotel pick-up, drop at the agreed point, late return
Sunday 28 MarchCheck out, fly homeHotel to the airport at the time your flight sets

The club’s calendar also shows Meydan fixtures on 27 February and 12 March 2027 in the Dubai Racing Carnival, which runs from November to March. A fan who can come earlier may prefer one of those evenings, with a quieter road. Check the club for the details.

Thursday and Friday: airport to hotel

Dubai International (DXB) is the main airport for long-haul arrivals. Our model puts DXB at about 22 km and approximately 28 minutes from Meydan in free flow, and we word it as about 25 to 35 minutes. That is a figure for a quiet road, not for a heavy Saturday evening.

A first-time visitor often lands tired and wants one person holding a sign with the right name. Our airport transfer page and the guide to getting from the airport to your hotel explain how pick-ups work. For a party of ten or more flying in together, the big group arrival guide covers the luggage and the meeting point.

The club’s own Meydan Hotel has 285 rooms, according to the club. We do not book hotels. If your party stays there, or anywhere else, we plan from the hotel entrance you give us.

Saturday: public options first, then ours

Before you look at a private vehicle, read what the club and the RTA publish. The club’s Plan Your Day page covers travel by car or taxi only. It says the track is about 10 kilometres from Downtown Dubai, a 10-minute drive from Dubai World Trade Centre and about 20 minutes from the Mall of the Emirates, with ample parking on site.

For the 2025 meeting, the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) advised public transport, ran public buses from 11:00 am, ran free shuttle buses from Dubai Falcon Hospital to the racecourse and used the Gate B ramp for taxi drop-off and pick-up. It told drivers to expect congestion and gave Sheikh Zayed Road Exit 47 and Al Meydan Road as the way in. That is 2025 precedent. Look for the RTA’s 2027 notice, and do not treat the 2025 exit directions as current. We found no Metro station at the track.

A taxi suits one or two people. A private vehicle suits a party that wants to arrive together, such as a syndicate, a club trip, a family or a group of friends from the same stable or the same flight. We are not the club’s or the RTA’s transport provider, and we cannot say where a coach or van may stop, because drop-off and parking rules for 2027 are not published. We agree the point with you and check their notice first.

The 2027 gate times are not published either. As precedent only, in 2026 the public gate opened at 12:00 pm, the first race was at 3:45 pm and the Dubai World Cup race was at 8:45 pm, per the club’s 2026 booklet. Read the dress code on the club’s page before you pack, because the club can refuse entry.

Sunday: the way home

A late Saturday means a slow Sunday morning. Tell us your flight and we work back from it, allowing for the time you need at the airport. If part of the party leaves earlier than the rest, we plan two runs. Our late-night exit plan shows the way we handle a crowd leaving at once.

Choosing the vehicle for your group

A couple or a family takes the Mercedes V-Class. A syndicate or a party of friends of eight to thirteen takes the 13-seater van. The Mercedes Sprinter gives more room for luggage and for the hats and smart shoes that the club’s dress code makes you pack. A supporters’ club or a company party of 20 or more can use the 30-seater mini coach.

For a group with several days of movement, a single driver for the weekend means one set of faces and one list of hotels. The hourly chauffeur page explains how time is booked.

Before you go

Entry rules depend on your passport. Check the official UAE government visa page, and your own government’s travel advice, before you book. We do not give visa advice.

March sits at the end of peak season, so rooms and larger vehicles go early. Send the dates, the number of people, the hotel and your flight arrival times through the booking page, and we reply with a fixed written quote before you accept.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

When is the Dubai World Cup in 2027?

The Dubai Racing Club calendar marks Saturday 27 March 2027 at Meydan Racecourse. The club has not yet published a 2027 event page, so gate times and the programme are not known.

How far is Meydan from Dubai airport?

Our model gives about 22 km and approximately 28 minutes in free flow from DXB. We word it as about 25 to 35 minutes, and expect longer on race day.

Do you sell tickets or hospitality?

No. Tickets and any hospitality come from the Dubai Racing Club only, at dubairacingclub.com. We provide the vehicle and the driver.

Is there a Metro to Meydan?

We found no Metro station at the track in the club’s or the RTA’s pages, so we do not tell guests to plan around one. Check the RTA’s 2027 notice for buses and shuttles.

What did the RTA run in 2025?

It recommended public transport, ran public buses from 11:00 am and free shuttle buses from Dubai Falcon Hospital, and used the Gate B ramp for taxis. That is precedent for 2025, not a 2027 promise.

Can a group go to an earlier Meydan fixture?

The club calendar shows Meydan dates on 27 February and 12 March 2027 in the Dubai Racing Carnival. Check the club for the details and tickets.

Can you wait for us after the last race?

The driver meets you at a collection point we agree in advance, within a window rather than a fixed minute. The club’s 2026 programme ran past 9:00 pm, so plan for a late exit.

How much does a vehicle cost?

Ask for a fixed written quote. It depends on the dates, the airport legs, the group size and the hours, and we put it in writing before you accept.
