Fifteen evenings of cricket, one ride back.
The DP World ILT20 returns to the UAE for its fifth season, and the league’s calendar lists 15 of its 34 matches in Dubai, every one of them starting at 18:30. For a visiting fan or a winter-trip group, the question is the evening: getting to the stadium at Dubai Sports City, and getting home once thousands of people leave together. Here is what the league has published, what is in doubt, and how to plan it.
The Dubai fixtures
The league’s own calendar file, which the league links from its home page, lists 34 matches for Season 5: 15 in Dubai, 11 in Abu Dhabi and 8 in Sharjah. All the Dubai matches start at 18:30 UAE time. The Dubai dates in the file are 21 November, 22, 24, 25, 28 and 29 November, 2, 3, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 13 December, the Eliminator on 17 December and the Final on 20 December.
Two things differ between sources, and we say so rather than choose quietly. The league’s launch news of 28 September 2026 says the season will start on Sunday 22 November in Dubai, while the calendar file puts Match 1 on Saturday 21 November. We trust the file and tell you to check. The league’s home page also shows a playoff panel with placeholder text, so we use the calendar file for the playoffs: Qualifier 1 in Abu Dhabi on 16 December, the Eliminator in Dubai on 17 December, Qualifier 2 in Sharjah on 18 December and the Final in Dubai on 20 December.

The league’s home page lists the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai Sports City, with a capacity of 25,000. Dubai Sports City is inland, on the Al Ain Road side of the city, and is not on the Metro. Our routing model, built on OpenStreetMap data with no traffic, gives these approximate drives to the stadium.

Match evenings will add time. An 18:30 start means the evening commute and the match crowd arrive together.
What happens on a big match night
The league has published no transport plan, and we found no shuttle points, coach parking or gate list on 30 October 2026. The only evidence about how the area behaves is from another event. For a sold-out Asia Cup final at the same stadium in September 2025, Gulf News reported advice from Dubai’s RTA and police: heavy congestion from about 4 pm building to the 6:30 pm start, and again after the match ended at about 10 pm. It also reported that Dubai Sports City has no direct Metro link, and that a bus service ran from Dubai Internet City.
That was a past event and a different tournament, so treat it as a pattern and not as an ILT20 plan. The lesson for a group is the same either way: leave early, and plan the return as carefully as the arrival.
Planning an evening match
Work backwards from the first ball at 18:30. For example, a group staying in Dubai Marina would drive about 22 minutes in free flow. For an evening when the roads are full, add a margin of an hour or more and arrive before the gates are busy. Your hotel, group size and the match will change the sum.
For the return, agree one collection point and one time, and tell the group in writing. Matches end late, and a vehicle that waits for people who are “just buying a shirt” waits a long time. Keep a margin, and tell us if the group splits. We cannot promise to beat the traffic after the match, and we do not publish a drop-off or a coach bay at the stadium, because the league has not. We agree a point with you once it does.

Tickets and entry
We do not sell tickets and we print no prices. The league’s home page mentions general admission and family tickets, but the page also carries leftover text from another year, so we do not repeat its ticket rules. Check the league’s ticket site for the rules that apply to your match.

Do you sell tickets?
No. We supply a vehicle and a driver only. Tickets and their rules are the league’s.
