DP World Tour Championship transport.

The season finale of the DP World Tour is played every November at Jumeirah Golf Estates, in the south-west of Dubai. For a corporate group or a hospitality party the golf is the easy part. Getting everyone in and out on the same day is where a plan helps.

What we know and what you must check

The tournament is the final event of the DP World Tour season, played on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, usually in November. Exact dates, gate arrangements, official parking and any shuttle service are set by the organisers each year and change from one edition to the next. Check the official event site and your hospitality provider’s instructions first, and send us what they say. We do not repeat details here that could be out of date by the time you read this.

What we can tell you is how groups usually move on a golf week, and how to plan the road part of the day.

Who books transport for the tournament

  • Companies hosting clients in a hospitality area and wanting everyone to arrive together.
  • Golf travel groups staying at a hotel in Dubai for the week.
  • Teams and support staff who move between hotel, course and practice facility.
  • Guests who would prefer not to park, queue for a taxi or drive home after a long day outside.

If you are one of these, event transport in Dubai is the product you need. The same approach applies as for any big event: a fixed pick-up time, a named group leader and a clear return plan.

Choosing the vehicle

For four to six guests, the Mercedes V-Class is a good fit and keeps the party together. For a client group of up to sixteen, the Mercedes Sprinter has a better finish than a standard minibus, which suits hosts who care how the guests arrive. For a company of 20 to 30, use the 30-seater mini coach. Over 30, the 50-seater coach keeps everyone in one vehicle.

Golf bags are the thing people forget. Spectators do not carry clubs, but a group that has a morning round before the tournament does, and a set of clubs takes the space of two or three suitcases. Tell us in advance.

Timing the day

Spectator days are long. Gates open early, and people tend to arrive in a rush in the morning and leave in a rush after the last group finishes. Both create queues. Two habits help:

  • Arrive earlier than the first tee time you care about. You avoid the heaviest arrival peak and get a calmer drop-off.
  • Do not insist on leaving at the last putt. Staying 45 minutes longer, in the hospitality area or at a nearby restaurant, means a smoother road home than leaving with everybody else.

The drive from Dubai Marina or JLT is roughly 30 to 45 minutes in normal traffic, and from Downtown Dubai or the Dubai International airport area it is longer. Weekday morning and evening traffic on the main roads adds time. Ask us for a realistic departure time from your hotel and we work back from the gate time.

The pick-up plan that avoids the fuss

Agree two things with the driver before the day: where you will be dropped, and where you will be collected. The collection point does not have to be the drop-off point. Often a spot a short walk from the busiest exit is quicker for everyone.

The group leader keeps the driver’s mobile number, and the driver keeps the leader’s. When the group is ready, one message brings the vehicle round. That is much less stressful than hunting for a vehicle among hundreds of others at closing time.

If your tickets or hospitality pass come with specific vehicle access rules, send them to us. Whether a given vehicle can enter a particular zone is something the organisers decide.

A worked example

Example: a company hosts 18 clients and staff on Saturday. They stay at hotels in the Marina and JBR. A Sprinter collects the Marina group at 09:00, picks up the JBR guests on the way, and drops everyone near the hospitality entrance by 10:00. The driver waits close by, and after dinner on the course the host messages at 18:30 and the vehicle returns the party to the hotels.

That is a single vehicle and a single driver on a day hire. The starting price for the Sprinter is shown in the table below, and your quote confirms the figure for your date and hours.

Booking

Send the form with the date, the numbers, the pick-up hotels and your mobile number. We reply with a written quote naming the vehicle and the waiting allowance. Because tournament week is also peak season, book as early as you can. For other events at the same time of year, see sports team and tournament transport and VIP and events.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

Where is the DP World Tour Championship played?

At Jumeirah Golf Estates in the south-west of Dubai, on the Earth course. The event is usually held in November.

How long does it take to drive there from the Marina?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes in normal traffic. Tournament days and rush hours can add time.

Do you run a shuttle to the tournament?

We provide private vehicles with a driver for your group, not a public shuttle. Check the official event site for any organiser shuttles.

Can the driver wait at the course all day?

Yes, on a day hire the driver stays with the vehicle for the hours on your quote and comes round when you call.

Can you carry golf bags?

Yes, but tell us the number in advance. A set of clubs takes up the space of two or three suitcases, so it affects the vehicle choice.

Which vehicle suits a corporate group of twelve?

The Mercedes Sprinter, which takes up to 16 passengers and has a more refined interior than a standard minibus.

How early should we book?

As soon as your tickets or hospitality are confirmed. November is a busy month, and larger vehicles go first.

Can the vehicle take us to dinner afterwards?

Yes. Add the restaurant to the plan and the day hire covers it, within the hours on the quote.

Hosting guests at the golf? Send us the plan.
