Where the problem is

Coca-Cola Arena sits in the City Walk area of Dubai, inland from Jumeirah and close to Sheikh Zayed Road. On a normal day it is easy to reach. On an event night, arrivals bunch up in the hour before doors, and departures happen in a single wave when the show ends.

The result is familiar to anyone who has been: car parks near the venue fill early, drop-off areas back up, and the taxi and ride-hailing queues are long. People wait 30 to 60 minutes to leave. That is the cost you can avoid with planning.

Parking: what to expect and what to check

Parking arrangements, fees and any pre-booking system are set by the venue and the organiser, and they change by event. Check the ticket confirmation and the official venue site for the current instructions. Do not rely on last year’s advice.

If you decide to drive, arrive early, expect to walk, and agree in advance who is leaving the party at the end. The longest delay is not the walk but the car park exit.

The pre-booked alternative

A chauffeur takes the parking out of the evening. We agree two things with you before the event: the drop-off, and the pick-up. The drop-off is usually close to the entrance. The pick-up can be somewhere else, a few minutes’ walk from the main crowd, on a quieter road where a vehicle can stop and load.

Your group leader and the driver swap mobile numbers. When the show ends, the leader sends a message, the driver comes round and the group walks to the vehicle. Nobody queues, and nobody has to find a car among hundreds.

Where vehicles can wait and load near the venue is set by the venue’s traffic arrangements for each event. We plan the spot with you, and the driver confirms on the day.

Which vehicle

For two to four people, an executive sedan or a luxury SUV. For five to seven, the Mercedes V-Class. For a birthday group or a company night out of 8 to 13, the 13-seater van. A bigger group, such as a team party, can use a 30-seater mini coach, and the party bus page covers nights where the journey is part of the fun.

A single vehicle on a day hire can do a lot. It can collect the group from their hotels at 17:00, take them to dinner, drop them at the arena and be waiting at 23:00. The hours and the price go on the quote.

A sample evening

Example: ten colleagues attend a concert that starts at 20:00. A 13-seater collects them from the office in Business Bay at 18:30, drops them at the venue by 19:15 and goes to wait close by. The show ends at 22:30. The leader messages at 22:20, the van is at the agreed spot by 22:40, and the group is home before the taxi queue has cleared.

Tips whichever way you travel

• Check the doors time and arrive earlier than you think you need to.
• Charge your phone. You will need it for tickets and for the pick-up message.
• Agree a meeting point inside the group in case people get separated.
• Do not plan a tight dinner afterwards. Give yourself a buffer.
