Event guide

After GITEX closes, getting back for the evening.

The organiser’s tagline is to shape the future by day and experience Dubai by night. For the person standing outside the hall with a laptop bag, the second half starts with a question: how do I get to dinner, or to the hotel, when everyone else is asking the same thing? Here is what exists, and where a driver helps.

What is already there

Start with the public options, because for many people they are enough. GITEX Global 2026 has two venues. The one-day Summit is at Dubai World Trade Centre on Monday 7 December. The Expo is at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 December.

The organiser says the Dubai Metro Red Line connects both: World Trade Centre station for the Summit, Expo 2020 station for the Expo, about 5 to 10 minutes on foot from the Expo station. It lists Careem and Uber as operating around the clock at both venues, and event shuttles including direct DWTC to Dubai Exhibition Centre transfers and hotel and exhibitor services through a Transportation Hub.

We are not the organiser’s transport provider, and we do not run those shuttles. The organiser warns that shuttle routes and drop-off arrangements may change, so check the Plan your visit page on gitex.com for the current notice.

The last train and the last bus

We cannot give you a firm time for the last Metro. The RTA timetable on rta.ae is the place to look. We found no word that the hours are extended for GITEX week. So check the RTA timetable for the day you travel, and treat a late finish, a long dinner or a stand breakdown as something that can run past the last train.

The same applies to the shuttles. We found no timetable and no last-bus time for any of the organiser services. If you plan to rely on one after the show closes, follow the organiser’s notice and the onsite signs and staff instructions.

Taxi and ride-hailing at closing time

The organiser lists Careem and Uber at both venues, and designated taxis at the Expo end through the Transportation Hub. Those are quick for one or two people. The pressure point is the half hour after the halls empty. Thousands of people open the same apps at the same moment, and a group of eight needs three or four cars that will not arrive together.

It is also a tiring way to start a client evening. If you have a reservation for a set time, the trouble is not the ride. It is the uncertainty.

What a pre-booked driver does

We agree a pick-up with you before the show. The team leader and the driver swap mobile numbers. When the team is ready, the leader messages and the driver brings the vehicle round. The driver takes the group to dinner, to the hotel, or to both on a single hire.

We confirm the exact pick-up spot against the organiser’s access plan, because we could not find a published rule on whether minibuses, coaches or chauffeur cars may use the South Drop-Off or the Transportation Hub. We do not name a bay we cannot source. Where vehicles may wait is set for each event by the venue and the organiser.

For the evening itself, the organiser gives no published programme that we could find, so we do not tie our advice to named events. Think of it as dinner, a city tour, or a night in your hotel district, and tell us the plan.

Typical road times for the return

These are our own approximate figures. They come from a route calculation without traffic, widened into ranges for the evening. They are not official, so allow more at the end of a show day.

From Expo City toApproximate road time
Dubai Marina or JBR20 to 35 minutes
Palm Jumeirah30 to 40 minutes
Downtown Dubai or Business Bay30 to 45 minutes
Deira35 to 50 minutes
Dubai International Airport35 to 50 minutes

From the Summit venue at DWTC, Downtown and Business Bay are approximately 10 to 20 minutes away, Deira 15 to 25. If you are catching a night flight, check your own check-in rules and tell us the departure time. Our airport chauffeur page explains the airport side.

What we do and do not do

  • We provide a vehicle, a driver and fuel, on a fixed written quote, for the hours you need.
  • We do not sell tickets, passes, badges or exhibitor space. Use the organiser’s own site.
  • We do not run the organiser’s shuttles and we are not its transport provider. Ours is a separate, private service.
  • We do not book hotels or restaurants. You tell us where to go.

The guide to a bus rental quote shows what appears on a written quote, and the chauffeur etiquette guide covers the small things, such as how long a driver waits.

Choosing the vehicle

A pair of executives can use an executive sedan or luxury SUV. Up to seven can ride in the Mercedes V-Class, and a team of up to 16 in the Sprinter. Each venue has its own page: DWTC event transport and Expo City transport. For larger groups, see 30-seater mini coach. Send dates and hours through the booking page, and ask for a fixed written quote.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

What time does the last Metro leave?

Check the RTA timetable for the day you travel. We found no word that hours are extended for GITEX week, and a late finish can run past the last train.

Do the organiser shuttles run in the evening?

We could not find a timetable or last-bus time. Read the organiser’s current notice on gitex.com and follow onsite signs and staff instructions.

Are you the official GITEX transport provider?

No. The organiser runs its own shuttles. We are a private, pre-booked service and we are not the organiser’s transport provider.

Can you get me a ticket or a pass?

No. We do not sell tickets, passes, badges or exhibitor space. Register through the organiser’s own site, gitex.com.

Can the driver wait while the team finishes?

Yes, if you book waiting time. Say so when you ask for a quote, because waiting is listed separately from a return trip.

Can you take us to dinner and then the hotel?

Yes. One hire can cover the venue, a restaurant and the hotel. Give us the addresses and times and the quote lists each stop.

How long is the drive from Expo City to Marina?

Approximately 20 to 35 minutes by road, depending on traffic. Allow more at the end of a show day.

How do I get a quote?

Send the dates, the group size, the pick-up venue and the drop-off addresses through our booking page. We reply with a fixed written quote.
