Marina and JBR to GITEX, morning and night.
The Marina and JBR have the shorter Expo runs of the main hotel districts. The Expo is four days of the same trip, twice a day. Here is how to plan that routine, and where a vehicle of your own helps.

Which days this page is about
GITEX Global 2026 has two venues. The one-day Summit on Monday 7 December is at Dubai World Trade Centre. The Expo and Conferences run Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 December at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), Expo City Dubai. This page covers the four Expo days, when the Marina and JBR have the shorter runs of the main hotel districts. For the Summit day, ask us for a separate quote and read the DWTC event transport page.
We are not the organiser’s transport provider, and we do not sell tickets or passes. Registration is on the organiser’s own site, gitex.com. What follows is a private, pre-booked option next to the organiser’s own shuttles and the Metro.

Get a quoteWhat the organiser and the Metro already give you
Start with what your hotel booking may already include. The organiser’s hotel programme, run with Atelier by Informa, lists over 80 properties in Dubai with a complimentary daily shuttle to and from the venue. We could not read the property list, so we cannot tell you whether a given Marina or JBR hotel is on it. Ask the hotel directly, and ask for the pick-up point and the first and last departure time. We found no published timetable for these shuttles.
The Red Line runs to Expo 2020 Station, the end of the line, from which the organiser gives a walk of approximately 5 to 10 minutes to the exhibition centre. If your hotel is close to a Red Line station, the Metro is a straight, one-line journey with no change. We do not have an official Metro time from the Marina, so check the RTA journey planner for your own hotel. Two Red Line trains may arrive at the same platform, so take the one going to Expo 2020. You need a Nol card, and the RTA timetable shows the last train.
Careem and Uber operate around the clock at both venues, according to the organiser, and taxis and ride-hailing set down at a designated area on Boulevard 2020 Street. Those three options cover a lot of solo travellers.
The run from the Marina and JBR
Our own route model, which assumes free-flowing roads and no event traffic, puts both districts at about 20 minutes from the Dubai Exhibition Centre. That is a model and it is optimistic for a show morning. For planning we use approximately 25 to 35 minutes, the same range as on our Expo City page, and we add time when the pick-up is early or the group is large.
| Start | Free-flow model to Expo City | Planning range |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai Marina | About 20 minutes | Approximately 25 to 35 minutes |
| JBR | About 20 minutes | Approximately 25 to 35 minutes |
| Palm Jumeirah | About 32 minutes, because of the Palm crossing | Longer than the Marina, so allow extra |
The table is indicative. It is not an official figure from the organiser, the venue or the RTA, and the traffic around the venue on the show days is the part nobody can model.
Planning the daily routine
The organiser lists the Expo as 10:00 to 5:00 and the Conference as 11:00 to 4:00. Check gitex.com for the day you attend, because the listing is a single line. A group that wants to be inside shortly after opening should plan the pick-up around the drop-off, not around the doors. Work backwards: the time you want to be at the entrance, the walk from the drop-off point, the drive, and a margin. We set that margin with you, and the driver messages the group leader when the vehicle is outside the hotel.
The organiser names a South Drop-Off for private vehicles and event buses and a Transportation Hub for hotel buses, exhibitor shuttles and designated taxis. Private vehicles may drop off only at designated locations and must follow the marshals. We do not know whether a coach or minibus may use either point, so we confirm the drop-off against the organiser’s access plan before the day. We never promise a specific bay.
For a group with a fixed team, the same driver for four days has a practical benefit: the people, the pick-up spot and the bags in the back are known on the second morning. A 13-seater van or Mercedes Sprinter covers a mid-sized team. A 30-seater mini coach suits a company with a large booking across two hotels, and our hotel group transfer guide explains how we plan multiple pick-ups.
Metro or private vehicle
Be honest about which suits your group. The Metro is a good fit if you travel alone or in a pair, carry a day bag, and have time. It gives you no door-to-door pick-up, and you must walk from your hotel to the station.
A private vehicle suits these cases better:
- A team of six or more that wants to arrive together after breakfast.
- A group with display kit, boxes or luggage, who do not want to carry it on a train.
- Executives with a meeting that starts at a set time and who want the same driver each morning.
- A mixed group, where some leave early and others later, and the leader wants control.
See also our guide to taxi versus private transfer, which uses the airport run as its example but makes the same point about groups.
Getting back after a late finish
The organiser’s tagline is to shape the future by day and experience Dubai by night, so many groups finish the show and go on to dinner. Check the RTA timetable for the last train before you plan the evening around the Metro. A late finish can run past it. Ride-hailing runs around the clock, but a group of eight needs two or three cars and will not arrive at the same time.
With us, the return pick-up point and time are agreed in the morning. We can agree a window instead of a fixed minute and the driver waits for the group leader’s message. If the evening moves to a restaurant in the Marina or at JBR, that changes only the destination. Ask for the whole week in one quote. It is easier for the finance team, and the quote guide shows what a written quote lists.
Entry rules depend on your passport. Check the official UAE government visa page and the organiser’s visa section before you book. December is peak season, so ask early. Use the booking page and tell us your hotel, the days you attend, the number of people and whether you need the airport legs too.

Frequently asked.
Quick answers for this trip.
How long is the drive from Dubai Marina to Expo City?
Our free-flow model gives about 20 minutes. For planning we use approximately 25 to 35 minutes and add time on show days. It is not an official figure.
Is JBR the same as the Marina for timing?
In our model both are about 20 minutes from the Dubai Exhibition Centre. Plan the same range for each, and allow more for a large group.
Does my hotel have the organiser’s shuttle?
Only some do. The organiser’s hotel programme lists over 80 properties with a daily shuttle, but we could not read the property list. Ask your hotel for the pick-up point and the times.
Can I take the Metro from the Marina?
The Red Line ends at Expo 2020 Station, with a walk of approximately 5 to 10 minutes to the venue. Check the RTA journey planner for the time from your own hotel.
Where will the driver drop us?
At a designated drop-off point. We confirm it against the organiser’s access plan before the day, because the organiser asks private vehicles to use designated locations only.
Are you the official transport provider for GITEX?
No. We are not the organiser’s transport provider. Our vehicles are a separate, private booking.
Can the same driver take us all four days?
Yes. Ask for the whole week in one written quote, with the morning and evening pick-up times for each day.
Do you sell GITEX tickets?
No. Register on gitex.com. We provide the vehicle and the driver, and we quote in writing.
