A shopping group does not travel like a sightseeing group. It leaves with empty hands and comes back with full ones, and the vehicle has to cope with both.

The Dubai Shopping Festival is reported to run from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027, which is about six weeks. The programme was still to be released when we wrote this page, so treat the dates as reported and check the organiser, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, for the final list of events, sale periods and opening hours.
For a tour operator or group leader the festival is not one event. It is a long window with Christmas, New Year and school holidays in the middle of it. Hotels fill, roads in the mall districts slow down in the late afternoon, and the same group that wanted a quiet Tuesday run in early December may want something very different on 30 December.
This page is about the transport only: hotel to mall, mall to mall, mall to an evening site, and the trip back with the bags. We do not sell festival tickets, shopping tours or hotel rooms.

Get a quoteMost group shopping days fall into one of four shapes. Knowing which one you want makes the quote simpler, because each one is priced by hours and route.
| Day shape | How it runs | Vehicle that usually fits |
|---|---|---|
| One mall, all day | Drop at the main entrance, a fixed pickup time, lunch inside | Any vehicle, often a 30-seater mini coach |
| Two or three malls | A loop with a set time at each stop, driver waits or returns | Sprinter or mini coach |
| Old markets plus a mall | Morning at the souks in Deira, afternoon at a mall | 13-seater van for narrow streets |
| Shop then evening out | Hotel, mall, dinner, a festival site, hotel | One vehicle booked for the full day |
If you are building a package, our Old Dubai coach tour page shows how a market morning is timed, and the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall page covers the biggest mall stop in detail.
On the way out, a shopping group is easy. On the way back, each person may carry three or four large bags, and those bags are bulky rather than heavy. A seat that looks comfortable on paper is not comfortable with a stack of carrier bags at the passenger’s feet.
Two habits help. First, ask the group to use the vehicle’s luggage hold or a rear row for bags rather than the aisle. Second, agree a mid-day stop at the hotel to drop purchases if the group is out from morning to night. The driver can run a hotel stop in the middle of a loop, and it is better written into the plan than improvised at 3 pm.
Large items such as boxed electronics, rolled carpets or flat-packed furniture are a different matter. Tell us what is expected when you ask for the quote, so the vehicle choice allows for it. For flight day, when the same bags have to go to the airport, read our luggage planning guide and check the airline’s allowance before the group shops, not after.
Many groups pair a shopping day with an evening out. The festival is expected to include fireworks, concerts and street events, but the details were not yet released, so we do not name dates or venues for them. Check the organiser, then tell us the site and the time you want to arrive.
Evenings are where the waiting time matters. A driver who drops at 7 pm and returns at 10 pm is a different job from a driver who waits. If the group wants to be dropped and collected without the vehicle idling near a crowded site, say so. For one of the usual festival-season outings, see our Global Village group transport page, which explains drop-off points, return timing and how we handle a group that leaves in waves.
The driver knows the route, the entrances and where a coach can stop. He does not manage the group. That job belongs to the group leader or a guide from your side, who keeps a headcount and holds the pickup time.
A few rules keep a shopping day on track. Give the group the pickup point as a photo or a pin, not as a description, because large malls have many entrances and car parks. Save the driver’s number in the leader’s phone. Set the pickup time as a time, not as "after lunch". And ask the group to be at the point five minutes early, since a coach cannot always wait where it stopped.
This is an example to show the shape of a booking, not a quote. The party has 36 guests and one guide. A 50-seater coach has room for the people and a back row of shopping. The plan: day one, a morning at a large mall, a stop at the hotel at midday to drop bags, and an evening at a festival site. Day two is a market morning and a free afternoon, with no vehicle. Day three repeats the mall loop.
At the day rate shown on our price page, the 50-seater coach starts from AED 1,450 for a full day of up to 10 hours with driver and fuel. Three full days would then start from AED 4,350, as an example of multiplying that figure, and the half-day or no-vehicle days would come off. The written quote confirms the exact price for your dates, route and hours.
Not every week is the same. Early December is normally calmer than the days around Christmas and New Year, when many hotels and malls are at their busiest. We do not state exact crowd levels, because they change by year. What we can say from running groups in Dubai is that the late afternoon between about 4 pm and 8 pm is when roads near the big malls slow down, and that weekends differ from weekdays.
Public holiday dates and school-term dates vary by country. Check yours before you fix the dates, and read the peak season guide for how we plan around the busy months. If your group is staying for New Year, the New Year’s Eve group guide explains why that night needs its own booking.
The Dubai Marathon is reported for Sunday 17 January 2027, the same day the festival is reported to end. A group that mixes runners and shoppers can use two vehicles on that morning. Our Dubai Marathon group transport guide covers the early start and the roads. Make sure the shoppers’ vehicle does not need to cross the same closed routes at the same time.
Send the dates, the number of people, the hotel, the malls or sites you have in mind, the hours you want the vehicle, and an honest guess at the number of large bags on the return leg. If the group arrives and leaves during the festival, add the flight numbers. Send it through the booking page, and we reply with a written quote in AED that lists what is included.
Prices start at the rates on the price page. For groups that want the same vehicle every day for a week, the coach rental page and the guide for tour operators and DMCs are a good next read.

Quick answers for this trip.
It is reported to run from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027. The programme had not been fully released when we wrote this, so check the organiser for dates and events.
No. We provide a vehicle and a driver. Tickets, tours and hotel rooms come from the organiser or your own agent.
Yes. Give us the malls and the time you want at each, and we set the loop and the waiting time on the quote. Large malls have several entrances, so name the one you want.
Tell us the number of large bags and any bulky items. A mini coach or coach has more room than a van, and a luggage hold is better than the aisle.
Often, yes, but the mall sets where a coach may stop. Waiting hours go on the quote, so the price is written down.
Usually a full day or a half day for one vehicle is simpler than many short bookings. The quote shows both if you ask.
We quote per vehicle for the hours and route. Divide by the number of guests for a per person figure.
No. Check the official ICP and GDRFA sites for your passport and travel dates.
