Desert Classic 2027, gates at seven.

Gates open at 07:00 every day and the organiser says there is no public parking at the club. That makes the morning the hard part. Learn the Metro and taxi plan first, then see where a pre-booked vehicle helps a group.

Four days, gates at seven

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is on the DP World Tour calendar and runs from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 January 2027 at Emirates Golf Club, on the Majlis Course. The organiser says gates open at 07:00 on all four days. A Pro-Am is listed for 19 and 20 January, free to attend, with no registration needed.

First tee comes shortly after the gates open, but the organiser’s pages disagree on the exact minute, so check its timing page. The organiser’s timing page lists play finishing around 18:00 on Thursday and Friday and around 16:45 on Saturday and Sunday. Tournament Town, the fan area, stays open into the evening. Check the page for the hour, because our sources do not agree on it. A Family Friday session runs from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Every visitor needs a registered ticket, issued digitally. The organiser says children aged 17 and under go free with an adult, and asks visitors to dress with local customs in mind. Tickets are sold by the organiser. We sell none.

The organiser’s own plan: Metro and taxi

The organiser sends spectators to public transport. It says the Red Line station Al Fardan Exchange is right outside the golf club entrance, via Exit 2, and describes the walk to the main entry tents as about one minute. Its plan page gives Metro journey times of 12 minutes from Dubai Marina and 25 minutes from Downtown Dubai.

Taxis and ride-hailing can drop off at the main entrance, with pick-up there as well, again according to the organiser. Buses are mentioned, but the organiser’s pages give different route numbers, so we give none. Look at its current plan page.

Parking is the key fact. The organiser says there will be no public parking at the Desert Classic. Its plan page also mentions limited weekend parking, and the two statements do not match. Check the page for the latest before you count on a space, and do not plan to drive to the club.

Metro hours matter for an early start. The RTA publishes its timetable, and as we read it, Sunday service begins later in the morning than on other days, after the 07:00 gate. Read the RTA timetable page for 24 January, and look for any event notice.

From your hotel to the gate

These drive times are approximate, from our OpenStreetMap routing with no traffic, so Google Maps on the day will differ and you should allow more at gate time.

The club sits on the Emirates Hills side of Sheikh Zayed Road, next to Dubai Marina and Dubai Internet City. A Marina or JBR hotel is a short ride. Downtown and Business Bay hotels are a longer one, and a 07:00 gate means an early start if you want to see the first groups. Our hotel drive times guide covers other areas.

Where a private vehicle fits

We are Dubai Bus Services. We are not the organiser’s transport provider. We offer pre-booked private group transport on a time you set, which sits beside the Metro and taxi plan, not in place of it.

It suits a group of friends or a golf society that wants to arrive together, a family with children for Family Friday, or a party that has a dinner booked after play and wants one return time. If one or two people are leaving at midday, the Metro suits them better. A shared vehicle suits the rest.

We do not know where coaches, minibuses or chauffeur cars may stop near the entrance. The organiser describes a taxi drop-off at the main entrance, and nothing for private vehicles. We agree the drop-off point against the organiser’s current instructions before the day, and we never assume a bay.

The Mercedes V-Class suits a small party. A group of 7 to 13 fits a 13-seater van or a Mercedes Sprinter. For a larger society, see the 30-seater mini coach. We also covered another golf week in our DP World Tour Championship transport page.

Fitting in the rest of the week

January is a busy month in Dubai, with other big events on the calendar. If your group is staying on, peak season explains why rooms and larger vehicles go early. Our airport transfer page covers arrival, and the team and tournament transport guide shows how we handle a group that moves as one.

Before you travel

Entry rules depend on your passport. Check the UAE government’s visa page, and read your own government’s travel advice page. To ask for a quote, send the dates, head count, hotel and the time you want to leave the club through the booking page. We reply with a fixed written quote before you accept. If the organiser changes its plan, its website is the current notice.
