Race day at Expo City, planned backwards.

HYROX Dubai takes place on 27 and 28 November 2026 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City. The organiser has published a provisional two-day schedule and strict check-in rules, and it lists the Metro and the road as ways to arrive. For a visiting athlete or a group of supporters, the useful part is the clock. Here is what is published, and how to plan the day around it.

Expo City Dubai, the venue for HYROX Dubai in November 2026

The event

HYROX Dubai is listed by the organiser for 27 and 28 November 2026, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Boulevard 2020, Madinat Al Mataar. The organiser’s page gives a provisional schedule, which it says may change. We repeat it here with that warning, and we do not publish start times for any individual athlete.

We are not the organiser’s transport provider and not a partner of the event. If its notices and ours ever differ, follow the organiser.

The provisional schedule

The organiser says individual start times are posted about three days before the event. Until then, plan around your division’s window and expect the final times to differ.

Check-in: the rules that shape the morning

The organiser says on-site registration opens 90 minutes before the first wave of each division. Athletes need photo ID, nobody can check in on someone else’s behalf, and athletes can check in only on the day they compete. An earlier check-in day and place are listed as “to be announced”.

This matters for transport. If your division’s first wave is at 10:00, check-in opens at 08:30, so a group of athletes might want to arrive soon after that. Ask the organiser for your own times, and work backwards from there. Supporters can arrive later, but they will travel with the group if you share a vehicle.

How the organiser says to get there

The organiser lists three ways. By car, via Expo Road (E77) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), with parking available. By Metro, to Expo 2020 Station, which it calls a few minutes’ walk and the end of the Red Line extension. Or by taxi. We found no coach drop-off area, no event shuttle and no group parking arrangements on the pages we opened on 30 October 2026, so we agree a drop-off and collection point with you once they are published. We cannot promise a stop at the entrance.

The venue’s own visitor FAQ, quoted on another organiser’s page, says the centre is about 40 km from Dubai Airport, with a drive of around 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. Our routing model, built on OpenStreetMap data with no traffic, gives about 52 km and about 56 minutes. We pick no winner. Dubai Marina to the venue is about 18.5 km and about 25 minutes in our model, and Downtown about 37 km and about 34 minutes. Allow more on event days. For the airport end, see Dubai Airport to Expo City.

The same weekend

The Emirates Dubai 7s runs from 27 to 29 November and the Dubai International Boat Show from 25 to 29 November, and both fill hotels and roads. If your group has more than one fixture, see our Dubai 7s group transport and Boat Show transport pages, and when to combine the Metro and a coach for deciding which runs need a vehicle.

Planning the day

For athletes, a common plan is one vehicle to the venue before check-in and one collection time after the last member of the group finishes. For a large group, the last person to finish sets the time, so keep a margin and agree a point to wait. For supporters, a fixed return time beats a promise to be back when it ends.

Athletes carry bags with kit, shoes and recovery gear. Count the bags with the people. We carry bags and not equipment: tell us if you travel with anything unusual, and we say honestly what fits. We do not say what size of sled, bag or other kit a vehicle takes.

Choosing the vehicle

Our guide figures:

How a booked vehicle fits

  1. Send the plan. Dates, hotel area, party size, the division and the check-in time the organiser gives you.
  2. Ask for a fixed written quote. Nothing is charged until you confirm.
  3. Read the pick-up and drop-off arrangement. The quote states it, and we update it when the organiser publishes its notices.
  4. Agree the return time. We plan the margin and tell you what is not yet published.
  5. Tell us if plans change. We adjust where we can, and cannot promise to beat traffic.
