Planner guide

Property viewing tours, the transport side.

A viewing day is five or six short stops with a lot of waiting in between, and a party that wants to arrive on time and fresh. We are not an estate agent and give no property advice. This page covers only the vehicle, the driver and the clock.

Transport only, said plainly

We are a transport company. We do not arrange viewings, sell property, represent developers or advise on buying. The sales teams and agents you meet set the appointments, and the decisions are yours. What we do is put a vehicle and a driver at the hotel door, take your party to each address and wait at every stop.

Anything about buying, finance or the law belongs with your own advisers. We do not give guidance on any of it.

Why a viewing day is its own kind of job

Most group days have a few long stops. A viewing day has many short ones. Each viewing may last under an hour, the next address may be across the city, and the party is in and out of the car all day. A taxi has to be found again at every stop.

A car or van with a driver stays with you. It waits near each address, holds the day bags and the brochures, and moves on as soon as the party is back. The day rate covers up to 10 hours, and the quote says when the clock starts. Our guide to a car with a driver for a week covers multi-day bookings in more detail.

Pick the vehicle by party size

Count the people, then add a seat for a sales representative if they will ride with you. Count day bags and folders as well.

PartyVehicleSeatsBags
1 to 3Executive sedan43
4 to 6Luxury SUV65
5 to 7Mercedes V-Class76
8 to 1313-seater van1310
14 to 16Mercedes Sprinter1612

Where two vehicles overlap, choose the bigger one if the party is carrying much. Children travel with child seats, free on request, so tell us each child’s age when you ask for the quote. For a larger party, the pages on 5 to 8 people and 9 to 13 people compare vans and cars in full.

A worked day: five guests, five viewings

Assume five guests and a sales representative who rides along on some legs, so a V-Class with seven seats. The sales team sets the real appointment times. The numbers below are assumptions: 60 minutes at each viewing, 25 minutes between addresses and an hour for lunch that the party books itself.

TimeWhat happensAssumption
08:50Driver at the hotel, ten minutes earlyStandard
09:00DepartParty on time
09:30 to 10:30Viewing 125 minute leg, 60 minute viewing
11:00 to 12:00Viewing 225 minute leg
12:30 to 13:30Lunch, booked by the party25 minute leg
14:00 to 15:00Viewing 325 minute leg
15:30 to 16:30Viewing 425 minute leg
17:00 to 18:00Viewing 525 minute leg
18:25Back at the hotel25 minute leg

The vehicle is working from 08:50 to 18:25, which is 9 hours 35 minutes. That is inside the ten hours covered by the day rate, but only by 25 minutes. One late viewing, one slow lunch or a longer leg and the day goes into overtime. Overtime is charged at the hourly rate printed on the quote.

There are three ways out. Drop one viewing. Move the fifth viewing to a second morning. Or book the second day as a half day, since short jobs can be booked by the hour from four hours. The hourly chauffeur service covers that style of booking.

Give the driver a day sheet

The more the driver knows the night before, the less time you spend at the kerb. Send a one-page sheet with these lines.

  • Each address, with the name of the sales office or the site. A sales office and the building it sells can be in different places.
  • The appointment time and how long the sales team expects the visit to last.
  • A contact name and mobile number at each stop.
  • Where you want the car to wait. Some sites and sales offices set their own rules for where a car may stop, and we check the drop-off point and the waiting area before the day.
  • The lunch place and the time you want to leave it.
  • The name and mobile number of the person in your party who decides if the plan changes.

Waiting, changes and a second day

Viewings overrun and viewings finish early. Tell the driver when you are leaving each address, and keep the plan loose by the afternoon. If a stop is cancelled, the driver goes to the next address on the sheet. The quote lists the hours, so you can see what a long morning does to the day.

For two days, ask for the same driver and vehicle on both. We plan to keep them where the programme allows. For a longer visit with other days out, the car with driver page and the personal driver page show the options.

From the airport to the first address

If the party flies in the same day, book the arrival as a separate line. The driver meets you in the hall with a name board and tracks the flight, so a late landing moves the pick-up. See the airport chauffeur service for how the meet works.

Leave a gap between landing and the first viewing. Do not schedule a viewing for the hour after the flight.

What to send for a quote

Send the date or dates, the number of guests and ages of any children, the hotel, the list of addresses with appointment times and the flight details if you are landing the same day. Tell us whether a sales representative will ride along. We reply with a fixed written quote listing the vehicle, the hours and the waiting allowance.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

Do you arrange the property viewings?

No. We provide the vehicle and the driver only. The sales teams or agents you meet set the appointments, and we have no part in any sale.

Do you give property or buying advice?

No. We are a transport company. Questions about buying, finance or legal matters belong with your own advisers.

Which vehicle suits a party of five?

The Mercedes V-Class has seven seats and room for six bags, which leaves a seat for a sales representative who rides along.

Will the driver wait at each viewing?

Yes. The driver waits near each address. The quote lists the hours and the waiting allowance, so you can see how a long morning affects the day.

What if a viewing is cancelled?

Tell the driver, who moves on to the next address on your sheet. Changes follow the terms on your written quote.

Can we have the same driver for two days?

Ask for it when you book. We plan to keep the same driver and vehicle where the programme allows, and each day is listed on the quote.

Are child seats available?

Yes, free on request in our cars, SUVs and vans. Tell us each child’s age when you book.
