Personal driver in Dubai

A personal driver in Dubai gives you a car and a driver for the hours you choose. You decide where and when. The driver deals with the traffic, the parking and the waiting, and the price is agreed in writing before the first pick-up.

With us the car always comes with the driver. It will be an executive sedan, a luxury SUV or the seven-seat Mercedes V-Class from our own fleet, serviced to the manufacturer’s schedule and cleaned before every job. You don’t need a car of your own, a licence or a parking space.

By the hour, by the day or by the month

A driver by the hour

Hourly bookings start at four hours within Dubai, and the driver stays with you between stops. The bank, a clinic appointment, a meeting at the school and the weekly shop fit into one booking without a single taxi queue. Extra hours are charged at the rate on your quote. A driver for the day

Up to 10 hours with the same car and driver, from an early breakfast meeting to dinner. Visitors use it to see the city, executives for a full diary, and families for a long list of places in one go. Suggested routes are on the car with driver for a day page.

A monthly personal driver

For a regular routine, weekday mornings, three afternoons a week or a three-month assignment, send us the schedule and we quote it as a whole. We don’t publish monthly prices. They depend entirely on your days, your hours and the car, and a figure on a website would be wrong for almost everyone.

How a monthly arrangement works

A regular driver starts with the shape of your month. The more precisely you describe it, the more accurate the first quote will be. Tell us:

• which days of the week, and the start and finish times
• the usual routes, such as home to office, the school gates or a clinic
• the car you need, and how many people usually travel
• any regular trips outside Dubai, such as a weekly run to Abu Dhabi or Sharjah
• the evenings or weekends that come up now and then

We price the schedule as a whole and send it as a written quote. It shows the hours included, the rate for extra time, and the terms for changing or ending the arrangement, all before you confirm. We do our best to keep the same driver and car throughout, so the driver gets to know your addresses, your routine and how you like things done.

If a company is arranging the driver for an executive, it can go through a corporate account with one invoice a month, broken down by cost centre on request.

Who hires a personal driver

New residents

Moving to Dubai can mean weeks before you can drive. There may be a licence to convert or a test to pass, a car to buy and a whole road network to learn. A personal driver covers the gap, from flat viewings and school visits to the first commutes.

Visiting parents

Families hosting parents book a driver for appointments, shopping and days out. Drivers help with doors, steps and bags. The V-Class, with its sliding doors, is usually the easiest car for an older passenger to get into. Tell us about any mobility needs when you book.

After an operation or an injury

If a doctor has told you not to drive for a few weeks, a driver for the hours you need keeps life going: clinic visits, the office, the school run with you in the back.

Busy professionals

An hour on Sheikh Zayed Road is an hour of calls from the back seat. Executives on assignment, consultants and founders book a driver for the weeks when the diary is full. The executive sedan has privacy glass, and Wi-Fi can be arranged on request.

Visitors on a longer stay

For a fortnight of meetings or a long family holiday, a private driver who already knows your hotel entrance saves ten minutes every morning. Ask in the notes for the same driver for the whole stay.

Evenings out

Dinner, a show, drinks somewhere else, and nobody has to drive home. We don’t add anything for late nights.

What your driver does, and what they don’t

Your driver arrives ten minutes before the agreed time with the car cooled. They drive the route you want, or the quickest one for that time of day, and between stops they wait nearby and come to the door when you message. Shopping, luggage and bags get carried to and from the car. The car has chilled water and phone chargers, and child seats are fitted before pick-up when you ask, free of charge.

Our drivers are drivers, not licensed tour guides. They will tell you the best time to visit somewhere and which entrance to use, but for guided commentary book a licensed guide.

Two rules don’t bend. Everyone wears a seat belt, front and back, because UAE law requires it, and the driver won’t set off until they do. And if a change of plan would take you outside Dubai, the driver checks with us first, because intercity journeys are quoted separately.

A personal driver service or employing a driver?

Some families and companies in Dubai employ a full-time driver directly. If you need a driver every day for years, that can make sense. It is a different commitment, though. The employer usually sponsors the driver’s residence visa and pays the salary, medical insurance and housing or an allowance. On top of that comes a car, its insurance and running costs, and someone to cover leave and sickness. Rules and costs change, so check the current requirements with the relevant UAE authorities before you decide.

A personal driver service suits fewer hours, a few months rather than years, or anyone who wants the car and the cover arranged for them. You pay for the hours on your schedule. The car is ours. If your plans change, you change a booking, not an employment contract.

Choosing the car

For one to three people, the executive sedan is the natural choice. It is quiet enough for calls and takes three medium suitcases.

Families of four to six are better off in the luxury SUV. With three rows, the child seats go in the second and a folded pram fits behind the third.

For seven people, or anyone who wants the easiest car to get into, choose the Mercedes V-Class, with electric sliding doors and six bags behind. And for one special evening inside a longer arrangement, the Rolls-Royce can be booked by the hour as well.

What a personal driver costs

Hourly bookings start from four hours within Dubai, with the hourly rate written on your quote. A full day of up to 10 hours with driver and fuel starts from AED 1,150 for the Mercedes V-Class, AED 1,100 for the luxury SUV and AED 950 for the executive sedan. Monthly arrangements are quoted on request.

For a regular arrangement, the price depends on the number of days and hours, the car, any trips outside Dubai and any waiting beyond what you booked. Tolls and parking for your routes are listed on the quote. Late nights and public holidays cost the same as any other time.

Examples

These use our starting prices and are examples only. Your price depends on your dates, hours and routes, and it is confirmed in writing before you book.

Example 1: parents visiting for a week. They need a car four afternoons that week for appointments and shopping, four hours at a time. Each afternoon is an hourly booking at the rate on the quote, and all four sit on one quote.

Example 2: a business week. A consultant needs an executive sedan from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and asks for the same driver all week. Five full days start from AED 4,750.

Example 3: a family holiday. A family of six books a luxury SUV for three days of sightseeing during a ten-day stay. Three days start from AED 3,300, with child seats fitted free.

Example 4: a new job in Dubai. A manager who has just arrived needs a car every weekday from 7.30 to 9am and again from 6 to 7.30pm, for two months, while their licence is sorted out. We quote that schedule as a whole, on request.
