Event guide

Coast hotels for Gulfood, Marina to Palm.

A base on the coast sits roughly between the two Gulfood venues, which is handy when your list crosses both. This page gives approximate road times from Dubai Marina, JBR and Palm Jumeirah, the Metro and the organiser’s services first, and then the morning and evening run for a group.

Why the coast suits a two-venue show

Gulfood 2027 runs from 15 to 19 March 2027 at two sites: Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on Sheikh Zayed Road, and the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) at Expo City Dubai. The sectors are split between them, and the organiser shows the split on a combined floor plan at gulfood.com. Decide your halls from that plan first.

From Dubai Marina and JBR the two venues are of similar distance, with Expo City slightly closer. From Palm Jumeirah they are almost the same. Compare that with a Downtown hotel, where DWTC is a short run of about 8 minutes but Expo City is about 32 minutes. A coast base is a compromise that takes the sting out of a week that is not tied to one venue.

Hotel areaTo DWTCTo Expo City (DEC)
Dubai Marinaabout 20 to 30 minutesabout 20 to 30 minutes
JBRabout 25 to 30 minutesabout 20 to 30 minutes
Palm Jumeirahabout 30 to 35 minutesabout 30 to 35 minutes

These are our own free-flow estimates from public map data, with start points we chose on the Marina promenade, at JBR and on the Palm. They have no traffic and no show-day crowds in them. A hotel at the far end of its area will be different, so read them as approximate and allow more on show days.

The Metro and the organiser first

Both venues have a Metro station on the Red Line: World Trade Centre at DWTC and Expo 2020 (R76) at Expo City. The venue describes Expo 2020 as a few minutes’ walk from the halls, and gives train frequency as every 5 to 7 minutes off peak and every 3 to 4 minutes at peak.

We found no source for the nearest Metro station to each coast hotel, or for a Metro journey time from the coast to either venue, so we do not quote one. Ask your hotel, and use the RTA timetable. Check it for the last train too, because a dinner after a long show day can run past it.

At Expo City, taxis and ride-hailing drop off at a designated area on Boulevard 2020 Street. In 2026 the organiser ran free shuttle buses between the venues, according to press reports, but a 2027 transport page was not live on gulfood.com when we checked on 29 October 2026. The organiser publishes shuttle, parking and drop-off details closer to the event. The organiser’s hotels page is also worth a look. It did not show readable hotel names for us, so ask your own hotel whether it runs a venue shuttle.

The morning run from the coast

The organiser lists a 10:00 start on every day of the show. Work backwards from that using the table, add margin for the morning peak on the main roads, and then add some more. We give no fixed leave-by time because none can honestly be promised for a show week.

A group spread over three coast hotels is where a shared vehicle earns its place. One vehicle can collect from the Palm, the Marina and JBR in a set order, then run on to the venue. Each hotel stop adds minutes, so the written quote lists the stops in order and the pick-up time for each, so you see the plan before you accept.

The Palm is the furthest out of the three in the model, so it matters where it sits in the loop. We set the order with you when we build the quote.

Palm Jumeirah: about the same either way

From Atlantis, on the Palm, the model gives about 30 minutes to DWTC and about 32 to Expo City. The difference is small enough that your sector list, not the road, should choose the venue.

If your group arrives at the airport and heads for a Palm hotel, our DXB to Palm Jumeirah page covers that leg. For a larger group landing together, big group arrival at DXB explains how the pick-up is run.

Evening: closing time and the run back

The organiser lists a close at 18:00 from Monday to Thursday and 17:00 on Friday 19 March. Everyone leaves the halls at once, which is why we agree a meeting point and a pick-up time with you rather than leave it to a phone call in a crowd.

From Expo City back to the Marina or JBR the model gives about 20 minutes, which is a short run for a group that wants an early dinner. From DWTC it is somewhat longer. We can also arrange a dinner transfer within the Marina and JBR area for the same group, on the same booking.

We found no extended Metro hours for March. If your evening is on the late side, the RTA timetable tells you the last train, and a pre-booked vehicle is the fallback.

Where a private vehicle fits

We are Dubai Bus Services. We are not the organiser’s transport provider and not a partner of Gulfood, DWTC, DEC or Expo City. We sell no tickets, passes or badges. Register on the organiser’s site, gulfood.com. Our service is a private, pre-booked, door-to-door vehicle with a driver, separate from any shuttle the organiser runs.

It suits a buying team, a trade mission or a company group that wants one driver all week, a fixed pick-up time at its own hotel and the same faces in the vehicle. We do not know in advance whether a coach, minibus or chauffeur car may use the organiser’s drop-off areas at either venue. We agree the point with you and check the organiser’s access plan before the day. We never assume a bay.

Vehicles run from the Mercedes V-Class for a small team, through the Mercedes Sprinter and the 30-seater mini coach, to the 50-seater coach for a full delegation. A company that wants one account for the week can read the corporate chauffeur page. The venues have their own pages: DWTC event transport and Expo City chauffeur.

Booking your hotel, then your car

We do not book hotels. Choose the area from the table, and then send us the hotel name and the dates. Check the official UAE government visa page and your own government’s travel advice before you book. We do not give visa or travel advice.

To ask for a quote, send the dates, the number of people, the hotels, the venue for each day and the time you want to be back. We reply with a fixed written quote before you accept. Use the booking page.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

How far is Dubai Marina from Gulfood?

Approximately 20 to 30 minutes to either venue in a free-flow model, with no show-day traffic in it. Allow more on show days.

Which venue is closer to JBR?

Expo City is slightly closer than the Trade Centre in the model, but the difference is small. Your sector list decides the venue, not the road.

Is Palm Jumeirah a good base for Gulfood?

The Palm is about 30 to 35 minutes from either venue in our estimates, so it is further than the Marina but even between the two sites.

Is there a Metro from the coast to the venues?

Both venues have a Red Line station: World Trade Centre and Expo 2020. We found no published journey time from the coast, so ask your hotel and check the RTA timetable.

Does the organiser run a shuttle from hotels?

In 2026 it ran free shuttle buses between the two venues, according to press reports. For 2027 the organiser publishes this closer to the event, so check gulfood.com and ask your hotel.

Are you the organiser’s transport provider?

No. We are a private company, not appointed by Gulfood, DWTC or Expo City. Our vehicles are booked separately from the organiser’s services.

Can one vehicle pick up from several hotels?

Yes. The written quote lists each stop in order with a pick-up time, so you see the plan before you accept.

How much does a coast to venue run cost?

Ask for a fixed written quote. It depends on the date, the hotels, the group size and the venue, and we put it in writing before you accept.
