Palm Jumeirah day for groups

A Palm Jumeirah day, by coach or monorail.

The Palm is one island with one main way on and off. For a group, the question is not just how to get to Atlantis, but how to move around the Palm and leave at the end.

The choice: coach all the way, or monorail for the last stretch

Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island with a trunk road, a crescent and a monorail that runs along the trunk to the Atlantis end. Groups heading for the resort have two ways to get there. A coach can take them straight to the resort entrance. Or a coach can take them to the monorail station at the base of the Palm, and they ride to the resort.

The coach all the way is simpler for a large group, because everyone arrives together and there is nothing to board or queue for. The monorail is a good fit when the roads are jammed, or for a group that wants the ride as part of the day. Check the monorail operator for running hours, fares and rules on groups and luggage. It carries individual riders, so a big group needs time to board in batches.

The Palm's one road: how traffic works

There is one main access road to the Palm trunk. At busy times, such as weekend afternoons, holidays and the evening return, that road backs up. A coach heading for Atlantis in the late afternoon can sit in traffic for a long time.

Plan to arrive earlier than the crowd. A morning start, with arrival before the resort fills, works well. Plan to leave either before the main rush or after it clears. If you choose the monorail for the way out, the station is at the resort end, and the coach waits at the other end. This needs the driver to know the plan, so tell us in advance.

Our estimate for Dubai Marina to the Atlantis end is about 30 to 45 minutes outside rush hour. From the airport or Downtown it is longer.

Resort drop-offs: the coach bay and the lobby

Large resorts have coach arrival areas, separate from the lobby driveway for cars. The driver uses the coach bay and the group walks into the building. If you are staying at the resort, the hotel often has a bag handling process for groups, which is worth arranging with the hotel in advance.

If your group is visiting for the day and not staying, ask the venue about day guest access, group bookings and entry rules. We do not sell tickets, tours or hotel rooms. The group leader or the tour operator books the attractions and checks opening hours and entry rules with the venue.

The coach does not wait at the entrance. The driver goes to the coach park or the waiting area and returns when called.

A worked example: a family reunion of 38

This is an example. A family of 38 from three hotels in Dubai Marina has a day at the resort. A 50-seater coach collects them at 09:00 and reaches the Atlantis end around 10:00. The coach drops at the resort bay, then waits in the coach park.

The family spends the day at the resort. The older members stay by the pool and the younger ones go to the water park, which the leader has booked. At 16:30 the leader calls the driver, who returns to the bay in about 10 minutes. The coach takes the family back by the same road before the evening peak, with the first hotel drop at about 17:45.

If the family prefers the monorail, the coach can leave them at the base station and meet them there at the end of the day. Tell us at booking.

Return flow: the part nobody plans

Getting on to the Palm is easy. Getting off it, at the end of a busy day, is slower. If everyone leaves at the same time, the single road backs up. A group that leaves one hour earlier or later often saves much more than one hour.

Also think about people who want to leave early. A child who is tired, an elderly relative or a staff member with a flight. For these, a Mercedes V-Class can run alongside the coach on the same quote. See also the page on airport to Palm Jumeirah if the day starts with a flight.

Other stops to pair with the Palm

Groups often add a lunch at a Palm restaurant, a beach club visit or a view of the coastline. For a city contrast, see the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall page. For heritage, Old Dubai by coach. The Dubai Parks and Resorts guide covers a different theme park day.

Public holidays and school holidays make the Palm busier, and opening hours change across the year. Check the organiser or venue for your dates.

How to ask for a quote

Use the booking page and send the date, the headcount, the pick-up hotels, the resort entrance and your planned return time. Tell us whether you want the monorail as part of the plan. A fixed written quote follows by email, usually within the hour, with the waiting time and the pick-up arrangements written out.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

Should our group take the monorail or a coach?

A coach all the way is simplest for a large group. The monorail suits groups who want the ride or want to avoid road traffic, but it boards in batches. Check the operator for hours and fares.

How long does it take to get to Atlantis from Dubai Marina?

About 30 to 45 minutes outside rush hour. Weekends, holidays and the evening return take longer.

Where does the coach drop the group?

At the resort coach bay. The driver then moves to a waiting area and returns when called.

Do you sell Atlantis tickets or hotel rooms?

No. We are a transport company with drivers. The group leader books tickets and rooms and checks opening hours and entry rules with the venue.

What does a Palm group day cost?

Starting prices cover a full day within Dubai, for example AED 1,100 per day for a mini coach. The written quote confirms the exact price for your date, route and hours.

Is the Palm busy on weekends?

Yes, the single access road can back up in the afternoon and evening. Plan arrival early and the return either early or late.

Can someone leave early in a separate car?

Yes. A V-Class can be added to the same quote for guests who need to leave before the group.

Can the coach collect us from several hotels?

Yes. List each hotel and the number of guests, and we plan the order.
