Group day trips

Yas Island theme parks, a group day trip.

Four theme parks sit within a few minutes of each other on Yas Island, about an hour from Dubai. This guide covers what the parks themselves say about groups, school visits, bags, food and parking, and where a private minibus or coach helps. Where a park has not published an answer, we say so.

The four parks in one paragraph

Yas Island’s own website lists four theme parks. Ferrari World is the Ferrari-branded park, and its FAQ describes it as fully air conditioned and indoor. Warner Bros. World is billed as the region’s largest indoor theme park, with cartoon and film characters. SeaWorld is a marine life park, also indoor. Yas Waterworld is the water park.

That split matters for a group. Three of the four describe themselves as indoor, so the weather decides very little there. The water park is the one where the season, the swimwear rule and the towels decide how the day goes. The parks also run a multi-park ticket scheme, which the Yas Island site describes for two, three or four parks. Whether you want it is a ticket question for the park, not a transport one.

What the parks say about groups and school visits

The FAQs of Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World all give the same group rule: a group booking is for 15 or more guests, and the park says it replies within 24 hours, except at weekends. SeaWorld has a separate group events page that mentions school visits. It did not state a minimum group size where we read it, so check the park’s current notice.

For schools and team days, the three FAQs point to the Yas Concierge events team, who put you in touch with an events representative. Yas Waterworld’s group page lists “school trip” as a reason to contact the team and says it has education programmes for field trips. The Yas Island group events page says to book at least 14 days ahead. That page is about corporate and group events, so for a plain ticketed school day ask the park what lead time it wants.

The group leader does this part, not us. We do not sell tickets and we do not hold park slots. What we do is move the group once the park has confirmed the date and any entry time, so send us that time when you have it.

The drive from Dubai

The park FAQs for Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World say the parks are about 50 minutes from Dubai. Yas Island’s own directions page says 75 minutes from Dubai airport. Both are fair for a car on a quiet road. For a coach with a group, we plan on 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on where in Dubai the group starts and what the traffic is doing.

The run is mostly motorway, with no stop needed for a drive of that length, though we build in a comfort break for younger children if you ask. The detailed times by Dubai area, the tolls and the return-or-one-way choice are on our Dubai to Yas Island page, so we do not repeat them here. The Salik and Darb guide explains the tolls.

A Yas Island run is an Abu Dhabi journey, so it is quoted for the route, date and waiting time. Our starting day prices are for a day within Dubai, and the written quote shows what your Yas day costs before you confirm.

The free shuttle or a private vehicle

The parks say there are free shuttle buses to Yas Island from Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman for ticket holders. Guests need a valid e-ticket and should be at the stop five minutes before the bus arrives. The parks add that arrival and departure times are approximate because of traffic, and they publish a timetable on their own sites. Check it there, because we do not have it.

For two to four people travelling from near a stop, that may be all you need, and we would say so. A private vehicle suits a different kind of group:

  • A school or club that needs one pick-up at its own gate, a head count and a return at a fixed time
  • A family or company group spread across several Dubai addresses
  • A group with prams, wheelchairs, spare clothes or a change of shoes that it would rather leave on board
  • A day when the group wants to choose its own leaving time

The trade-off is real. On a shuttle you follow its timetable. In your own vehicle you set the timetable, and you pay for the vehicle and driver for the day.

Where coaches drop off and park

We could not confirm a coach drop-off bay or a coach car park at any of the four parks from their official pages, so this is the part to settle with the park before the day. Ask the group team where a coach stops to set down, where it waits and where it collects, then tell us. We check the same point and pass it to your group leader.

What the parks do publish is parking for cars, and it changes. Ferrari World’s FAQ says guests get free parking in the Grand Prix car park at Yas Mall with proof of entry, and that parking is limited. Warner Bros. World describes a complimentary parking deck reached from the park’s main entrance drive, and free outdoor parking shared with Yas Waterworld, a few minutes away. Yas Waterworld’s parking notice said its existing car park had closed and guests were using a temporary car park, with buggies running between it and the entrance at busy times. That notice carried a date from the summer, so check the park’s current notice.

Do not assume a coach can use any of these. If the park cannot give you a coach point, the fallback is a drop-off at the entrance by the driver and a pick-up at a place you agree on the day.

Bags, food and clothes

Rules differ by park, and only some are published. This is what we read on 27 October 2026.

ParkWhat the park says
Yas WaterworldBags are checked at the entrance. Outside food and drink are not allowed. Inflatable flotation devices are not allowed, and free life jackets are available. Swimwear is required, and jeans, denim and similar clothing are not allowed in the water. Lockers are wristband-activated, and larger bags can go to luggage storage.
Ferrari WorldRespectful clothing is asked for, with knee-length shorts and covered shoulders recommended. Lockers and luggage storage are listed. We did not find a published food or bag rule, so check the park’s current notice.
Warner Bros. WorldThe same respectful-clothing request. Lockers and luggage storage are listed. We did not find a published food or bag rule, so check the park’s current notice.
SeaWorldIndoor, with colder polar areas, so the park advises layers or a jacket. Lockers are listed. We did not find a published food or bag rule, so check the park’s current notice.

For a group of children, the simple rule is that anything the park does not want inside can stay on the vehicle. A packed lunch, spare clothes, towels and a bag of wet swimwear are easier on board than in a locker. The driver stays with the vehicle on a day booking. Keep tickets, phones and valuables with the group.

Opening hours and ride closures

We do not print hours, and you should not rely on anyone else’s printed copy either. Ferrari World’s FAQ says it is open every day, year round. Yas Waterworld publishes a monthly calendar on its site, and the October calendar we read showed different hours on different days, including a later close on one date. Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld both list ride updates, and on the day we read them each showed headline rides closed for maintenance.

So the order is: pick the date, check the park’s calendar and ride list, then ask us for the vehicle. If the group has a child who is keen on one particular ride, check that ride’s status the week before, not the month before.

Fridays, school holidays and public holidays are busier. The peak season guide explains how the cooler months fill vehicles. For a coach, book early.

Which park for which group

This is our view, drawn from how each park describes itself. It is not a ranking.

  • Primary school classes and families with under-sevens: Warner Bros. World or SeaWorld. Both are indoors, so heat and rain do not matter, and the characters and animals suit that age.
  • Teenagers and adult groups: Ferrari World for the rides, or Yas Waterworld in the warmer part of the year.
  • A school science or geography unit: SeaWorld, which describes school programmes and a research and rescue centre on its own pages. Ask the park what it offers.
  • A company or club day: Yas Waterworld has a group page for team building, and the Yas Island group events page lists team building and staff days.

If the group has a wide age range, pick the park that works for the youngest and the least confident swimmer. That usually means an indoor park, or the water park with a plan for who is going to stay out of the deep water.

One park or two in a day

The four parks are close together, and the Yas Express shuttle links them on the island. That makes a second park possible, but it is rarely wise for a group with children. Waterworld’s FAQ says it has a no re-entry policy and that group exit and re-entry are not permitted. A day split across two parks costs you the time to leave, move and queue again.

Our advice: one park, done properly, with the last hour kept free. If the group is teenagers or adults and wants two, ask the park about its multi-park ticket first, then give us the plan. The driver can move the group between parks on the island if the route is on the written quote.

A timed day: 38 pupils and four adults from Dubai

This is a template, not a quote. Times depend on the park’s entry time and the roads.

  • 07:15, the 50-seater is at the school gate and the group is counted on
  • 07:30, leave. The drive is planned at 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, with the roads after the morning peak
  • 09:00, arrive at the point agreed with the park for coaches, once the park has confirmed it
  • 09:30, park entry, with the entry time the park gave you
  • 15:30, the group leader messages the driver, and the group walks back to the agreed point and is counted again
  • 16:00, leave, aiming to clear Yas Island before the evening queue builds
  • 17:30, back at the school, with the group leader’s call to parents

A day like that is about three hours of driving, so it fits the booked hours of a day hire, and the written quote lists the hours and any extra.

Which vehicle

GroupVehicleStarting price per day
Up to 1313-seater vanFrom AED 900
14 to 16Mercedes SprinterFrom AED 2,450
17 to 3030-seater mini coachFrom AED 1,100
31 to 5050-seater coachFrom AED 1,450

Those are starting prices for a full day of up to 10 hours within Dubai, with driver and fuel. A day that goes to Yas Island is quoted for the route, so treat them as a guide to the vehicle sizes, not as the price. Count the adults as well as the children when you choose, and do not pack the seats. Our size guide helps when the group sits between two sizes, and what a school trip bus costs explains how a school quote is built.

The same driver stays for the day, so a bag of towels or a cool box can stay on board. See our Dubai Parks and Legoland guide if the group is deciding between Yas Island and Jebel Ali.

Race week and big event days

Yas Island hosts large events. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix organiser’s site lists this year’s race weekend as 3 to 6 December 2026, and Yas Island also hosts concerts. On those days roads, car parks and drop-off points work differently. Tell us the date when you book and we plan around the traffic. If a school trip can move by a day, it is usually kinder to the children.

How to book

  1. Settle the park, the date and the entry time with the park’s group team first.
  2. Send us the date, the number of children and adults, the pick-up address and the park through the booking page.
  3. Tell us about wheelchairs, prams, medical needs and the age of the youngest child.
  4. We send a written quote listing the vehicle, tolls, parking and waiting. Reply to confirm. Changes and cancellations follow the terms on your written quote.
  5. We send the driver’s details and the agreed meeting point before the day.

For a school, our school bus rental page covers what we need for a trip file. For a mixed group, the coach rental and minibus rental pages compare the vehicles, and the guide to what is in a quote shows how to read ours. If the group wants to add the Grand Mosque on the way, see the Abu Dhabi and intercity transfers page.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

Which theme parks are on Yas Island?

Four, according to Yas Island’s own website: Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld. They are a few minutes apart on the island.

How far is Yas Island from Dubai?

The park FAQs for Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World say about 50 minutes. Yas Island says 75 minutes from Dubai airport. For a coach we plan 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the pick-up and the traffic.

What is the minimum size for a group booking?

Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World each say a group booking is for 15 or more guests. SeaWorld did not state a minimum where we read it, so check the park’s current notice.

Who do we contact about a school visit?

The parks point schools to the Yas Concierge events team. Yas Waterworld’s group page also lists a school trip option. Book the park first, then send us the date and entry time.

Do you sell the tickets?

No. We are a transport company. The group leader books tickets, group slots and any school programme with the park.

Is there a free shuttle from Dubai?

The parks say free shuttle buses run to Yas Island from Dubai for ticket holders, with approximate times because of traffic. Check the park’s timetable. A private vehicle suits groups that need one pick-up point and a fixed return.

Where do coaches stop at the parks?

We could not confirm a coach bay at any of the four parks from their official pages. Ask the park’s group team, and send us the answer so the driver and your group leader have the same point.

Can the group bring food into the parks?

Yas Waterworld says outside food and drink are not allowed. We did not find a published rule for the other three, so check the park’s current notice. Food can wait on the vehicle.

Can we visit two parks in a day?

It is possible, but not wise for children. Yas Waterworld has a no re-entry policy, and group exit and re-entry are not permitted there. We suggest one park, done properly.

Can you give a price for a day on Yas Island?

Not here. A Yas Island day is quoted for the route, the date and the waiting time. Our starting day prices are for a day within Dubai, and the written quote shows your price before you confirm.
