A field trip budget lives or dies on the transport line. Here is what a school trip coach costs in Dubai, what changes the price, and how to work out a fair cost per pupil before the letter goes home.

A school trip bus in Dubai costs from AED 1,100 per day for a 22 to 30 seat mini coach and from AED 1,450 per day for a 50-seater coach, with the driver and fuel included, for up to 10 hours within Dubai. For a typical class trip that comes to roughly AED 33 to 55 per pupil for the bus.
That is the starting point. The figure on your quote depends on the head count, the hours, where you are going and how many coaches you need. The rest of this page goes through each of those, so the transport line in your budget is right the first time. For the service itself, sizing and safety, see our school bus rental page.

Get a quoteThe head count, including adults. The vehicle is sized on everyone who travels: pupils, teachers, assistants, the nurse and parent volunteers. Four extra adults can push a class from a mini coach into a 50-seater, which is AED 350 more per day at our starting prices.
Hours, not distance, inside Dubai. A trip from Al Barsha to the Etihad Museum and one to Dubai Parks and Resorts cost about the same if both fit in the day. What costs more is a day that runs past ten hours, or a coach that has to wait late for an evening event.
Leaving Dubai. A trip to another emirate is quoted as an intercity day, so the Dubai starting price doesn’t apply. Abu Dhabi is the usual one.
The number of coaches. Two coaches cost twice one coach. Sometimes that is the right call (see below), sometimes it is a seat-count mistake.
Tolls and parking. Salik gates on the route and any venue parking are listed on our written quote before you confirm. Ask other companies how they show theirs.
Timing in the year. October to April is the busy school trip season, and popular weeks fill up. We don’t add surcharges for public holidays, but the best dates go first, so book early.
Most schools divide the bus cost by the pupils who pay, and carry the adults’ seats in the total. Here is the sum for some common trips, at our starting day prices within Dubai. These are examples, not quotes.
| Trip | People | Vehicle, from | Per pupil, about |
|---|---|---|---|
| KG class to a farm or park | 20 children, 6 adults | Mini coach, AED 1,100 | AED 55 |
| One Year 4 class to a museum | 24 pupils, 3 adults | Mini coach, AED 1,100 | AED 46 |
| Two classes to a science centre | 44 pupils, 4 adults | 50-seater, AED 1,450 | AED 33 |
| A year group to a theme park | 84 pupils, 10 adults | Two 50-seaters, AED 2,900 | AED 35 |
Round the per-pupil figure up, not down. If two pupils drop out the week before, the coach still costs the same, and the school ends up covering the gap. Many schools add a small margin for that reason.
For 60 people, one 50-seater plus a mini coach costs less than two 50-seaters, and it is the obvious choice on price. We would still ask how the classes split. If it is two classes of 30, two mini coaches keep each class with its own adults, cost AED 2,200 together at our starting prices, and nobody is moved into a stranger’s coach.
Avoid booking a coach with no spare seat. A class of 46 with four teachers is exactly 50, and the morning a parent volunteer turns up, someone stays behind. Price the next size up, or a second small vehicle, and decide with the figures in front of you.
A morning visit that ends before lunch does not always need a full day. We can book by the hour, from four hours within Dubai, with the hourly rate on the quote. Ask for both when you request a quote and choose the one that suits the timetable. If the trip might run over, the day rate is the safer number for the budget.
The bus is usually the biggest single line, but not the only one. A simple budget sheet for a Dubai field trip:
Put the transport quote in writing before you send the letter home. Our quotes are fixed and written, and nothing is charged until the school confirms.
Our guide to what’s in a bus rental quote explains each line. For prices across every vehicle, see the bus rental price guide; for the difference between a Coaster and a full-size coach, read HiAce vs Sprinter vs Coaster vs 50-seater.
Send the date, the venue, the leaving and return times, and the number of pupils and adults. If you are not sure of the final numbers, give us the most likely figure and the maximum, and we quote both vehicle options. Use the booking form, email info@dubaibusservices.com or WhatsApp +971 54 126 1681. Sports fixtures and clubs work the same way; see sports team transport.
