Desert Classic golf group transport in Dubai

A golf party moves with clubs, early starts and a long list of tee times, and every one of those things changes what the vehicle must do.

Two golf weeks: watching and playing

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is listed by the organiser for 21 to 24 January 2027 on the Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club, with a junior event on 15 to 17 January. Most of our golf groups fall into two kinds. Some come to watch the tournament. Others come to play, using the same week to book rounds on other Dubai courses, and perhaps to watch a day as well.

The organiser sets ticket categories, the days with free entry by registration, and any weekend charges, so look at their site before you plan. We neither sell nor check tickets. What matters for transport is that a spectator group and a playing group have opposite needs. Spectators want to arrive at a gate and stay. Players want to be at a first tee at a fixed minute.

Early tee times and early gates

A tee time at 07:30 means being at the club earlier, usually with time for range balls and a coffee. For a party of eight golfers, that turns into a hotel pickup well before sunrise in January, which is cool but not cold in Dubai. Drivers are used to this.

Confirm with your golf club what time the group should be there, then tell us the hotel and the time. We set the pickup with a margin. If the hotel does not serve breakfast that early, ask for a packed one. For corporate days, the host often gives a fixed arrival time for all guests, which simplifies a coach booking.

The golf bag is a passenger

A full golf bag is about the length of a person and wider than most suitcases. Eight golfers means eight bags and eight shoe bags, and they do not stack neatly. Many of the people we carry on golf days also bring a travel cover, which makes the bag bulkier.

5 to 8 golfers5 to 8 bagsV-Class with rear seats folded, or a Sprinter
9 to 16 golfers9 to 16 bagsMercedes Sprinter with the rear space
17 to 30 people with bagsMany30-seater mini coach

Tell us the number of bags as well as the number of people. A V-Class that seats seven comfortably does not take seven golf bags and seven people. When in doubt, go one size up. Our vehicle comparison guide explains the luggage differences.

Spectator groups and the gate

For spectators, the plan is simpler. Check the organiser for gate times, the pickup and drop-off area for coaches, and any rules on bags and cameras, which vary by event. Send us the answer and we set the route.

Spectator days are long. A group may arrive before the first groups tee off and stay until the last putt. If you want the vehicle to wait, agree the hours. If you prefer drop and return, set a return time with some give in it, since golf runs later than anyone plans.

Corporate hospitality

Hospitality guests are often the most particular about the journey. They dress for the day, they travel with colleagues, and the host wants the first impression of the trip to be calm. A chauffeured luxury SUV or V-Class from the hotel to the hospitality entrance serves this well.

For larger parties of 20 or more, a coach for staff and a few cars for key guests is the common split. The VIP events service describes the formats, and the hotel group transfers guide explains how an agency organises a mixed list of guests across several hotels.

An example: eight golfers over four days

A tour party from Scotland, staying in Dubai Marina

This is an example to show the shape of a booking, not a quote. Eight golfers play three rounds on other courses on three mornings and spend one day at the Desert Classic as spectators. They carry eight bags. A Mercedes Sprinter takes them and the bags together.

The Sprinter starts from AED 2,450 per day for a full day of up to 10 hours with driver and fuel, per our price page. Four days would start from AED 9,800 as an example of multiplying that figure. In practice a golf day is rarely a full ten hours of waiting, so ask for a half-day basis for the playing mornings. The written quote confirms the exact price for your dates, route and hours.

Clubhouse runs and the 19th hole

After a round, golfers want lunch, a drink and a shower, and they rarely leave at the time they said. The driver can wait at the club for an agreed time, or return later by phone call. If the party ends the day at a restaurant outside the club, give us the address and we add it to the plan.

Course rules differ. Many clubs restrict where a coach may park, require a gate pass or limit access to registered vehicles. Ask the club or the organiser what they need from the transport company, and we supply the vehicle details when you book.

Timing and buffers for a January week

January is cooler and the days are shorter, so early starts are common. The roads on the way to the course are busy at the morning peak, and the return in the late afternoon overlaps with the evening peak. We do not state drive times, because they depend on the day. Build in a margin, especially for the first tee time of a round.

The week of the tournament also overlaps with the end of the festival season. See our Dubai Marathon guide for the race on Sunday 17 January, which can affect early roads that morning.

What we need to quote

Send the dates, the hotel, the number of golfers and spectators, the number of golf bags, the tee times or gate times, and the club or courses. We answer with a fixed written quote in AED. Start on the booking page and see the price page for starting rates. For more on how we plan tournaments for teams, see the sports tournament transport guide.
