Two museums, one tour request.
Dubai Culture runs the two main heritage museums in Dubai, Etihad Museum and Al Shindagha Museum, and it has one online route for a group that wants a guided tour. This page gives you the hours the museums list, the steps and tour hours on the tour request page, what the published pages do not say, and how one vehicle can link the two in a half day. The museums are the ones to ask about tours. We supply the vehicle and a driver.

What Dubai Culture and the museums say
We read the Dubai Culture pages for both museums and the two museums’ own “plan your visit” pages on 31 October 2026. Both list regular hours of 10:00 to 20:00 with last entry at 19:00. The venue lists these hours, so check the venue’s current notice before fixing a time. Etihad Museum gives its address as Jumeira Street, at the cross of 2nd December Street. Al Shindagha Museum is at Al Shindagha on Dubai Creek.
Etihad Museum stands on the site where the UAE was founded in 1971, and Union House is inside it. Al Shindagha Museum also looks after heritage buildings on what its page calls the DHD site, an abbreviation the page does not explain. Both museums list Wi-Fi, toilets and prayer rooms on their services pages.
Check the museums’ notices before you book transport. Opening notes and event dates change, and we adjust a quote if dates change.

Get a quoteHow to request a guided group tour
Dubai Culture runs an online museum tour booking service for tourist groups and institutions, in person or virtual. It has a page for each museum. A museum admission ticket is required. The steps are: open the form, choose the tour type and the language, submit, then wait for an email that approves or rejects the request. The page gives the completion time as one working day.
The tour languages are Arabic and English, and the page invites you to ask about others. Guided tours run from 12:00 to 17:00 at Etihad Museum and from 10:00 to 19:00 at Al Shindagha Museum. The inquiry line on the page is 80033222. Because the answer takes a working day and may be a rejection, send the request well before you fix a vehicle. We found no stated lead time and no group size limits.
Etihad Museum also has an education page. It describes a school journey for ages 7 to 18, says university groups are welcome and that the museum can shape a tour, and says its multipurpose hall holds 70 to 100 people. The museum says it has internal and external parking spaces. It does not say whether a coach can use them.
The numbers in one table
| Item | Etihad Museum | Al Shindagha Museum |
|---|---|---|
| Listed hours (as printed 31 October 2026) | 10:00 to 20:00 | 10:00 to 20:00 |
| Last entry, listed | 19:00 | 19:00 |
| Guided tour hours, listed | 12:00 to 17:00 | 10:00 to 19:00 |
| Modelled drive from Dubai Airport (DXB) | 21.2 km, 33 min | 21.5 km, 33 min |
| Modelled drive from Downtown Dubai | 8.4 km, 10 min | 10.1 km, 11 min |
| Modelled drive from Deira | 9.9 km, 12 min | 8.2 km, 10 min |
| Modelled drive from Dubai Marina | 30.7 km, 30 min | 32.3 km, 31 min |
The drive times are modelled by our routing model, built on OpenStreetMap data, with no traffic and no stops. Between the two museums our model gives 4.1 km and about 5 minutes. Add time at busy hours, on weekends and on public holidays.
What is not published
We found no minimum or maximum group size, no coach parking and no coach drop-off point for either museum, and no stated lead time for a tour request beyond the one working day to answer. We do not promise a stop at a gate. Your written quote states the pick-up and drop-off arrangement, and we agree a point with you and update it if the museum publishes one.
Guides: we supply the vehicle and a driver. A licensed guide can be arranged for a fee: ask when you request a quote. Our guide on licensed tour guides explains the difference. The museum tour on the Dubai Culture page is the museum’s own service.
Planning the day
The two museums sit on different sides of the city centre, so they suit a morning and an afternoon with a lunch in between. Because Etihad Museum lists guided tours only from 12:00 and Al Shindagha Museum from 10:00, one order that fits the listed hours is Al Shindagha in the morning and Etihad after lunch.
An example sum, not a promise: a group in Deira leaves at 9:00 for a guided tour at Al Shindagha Museum. Our model gives about 10 minutes, so allow 30 minutes for loading and a margin. After lunch, about 5 minutes between the museums, so the tour at Etihad starts at 12:00 or later with time to spare. Your hotel, group size and the day will change the sum.
If the half day also includes the Creek, see our Old Dubai Creek and souks half day. For a wider city route see our city tour by private minibus. School groups will find more on our school bus rental page.
Choosing the vehicle
Count passengers first and bags second. A museum day means coats, water and sometimes a school bag each. Our guide figures:
- Mercedes V-Class: up to 7 passengers and 6 bags.
- 13-seater HiAce: up to 13 passengers and about 10 suitcases.
- Mercedes Sprinter: up to 16 passengers and up to 12 suitcases.
- 30-seater mini coach and 50-seater coach for school and university groups.
How a booked vehicle fits
- Send the plan. Date, hotel area, party size and the time you want to be back.
- Ask for a fixed written quote. Nothing is charged until you confirm.
- Read the pick-up and drop-off arrangement. The quote states it, and we update it when a museum publishes one.
- Agree the return time. We plan the margin and tell you what is not yet published.
- Tell us if plans change. We adjust where we can, and cannot promise to beat traffic.
