Twenty is an awkward number. It is too many for a Sprinter and a little small for a coach. Here is how to size it using seats, bags and the shape of your day.
Your reference
Before choosing a vehicle, agree what the number means. If 20 includes the guide and the group leader, you have 18 guests. If it is 20 guests plus two staff, you need 22 seats. A planner abroad who writes "20 people" in a request and then adds three more the week before has just moved from one vehicle size to another.
Our advice is to ask for the vehicle for your maximum, not your target. A mini coach with 22 to 30 seats and 20 passengers is comfortable. A mini coach with 22 seats and 22 passengers is tight.
Prices depend on the date and group size. Get yours in a minute.
Get my price| Option | Seats | Bags | Starting price | Verdict for 20 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One Sprinter | Up to 16 | About 12 | From AED 2,450 per day | Too small |
| Two 13-seater vans | 26 together | About 20 | From AED 1,800 per day together | Works if the group splits |
| One mini coach | 22 to 30 | About 20 | From AED 1,100 per day | Usual answer |
| One 50-seater | 50 | About 50 | From AED 1,450 per day | Only for heavy luggage |
The Sprinter figure may surprise you. It is the smallest of the group vehicles and the dearest, because it is a chauffeur vehicle. The page on Sprinter hire explains the difference. The two-van total is simply 900 doubled, and all prices are starting prices that your written quote confirms.
It carries 20 people with seats to spare, takes around 20 medium suitcases, and arrives as one vehicle with one driver. The cost is below two vans. And it fits most hotel entrances. See the 30 seater page for more on the vehicle.
The thing to watch is luggage. Twenty guests and twenty suitcases fill the rear space. That is fine for an airport run if everyone has one bag. If anyone has two, you need help.
Pick two vans if the group is really two groups. Ten people leaving from one hotel for a morning meeting while ten others head to a site visit is a two-vehicle day by nature. The same applies when the pick-ups are far apart and a single vehicle would spend an hour circling.
The cost of two vans is higher and the coordination is harder. Two drivers need two sets of timings. If you take this route, give each van a lead: a named person who holds the list.
Twenty guests rarely need a 50-seat coach for the seats. They need it for the bags. Trade-show teams with display cases, sports squads with kit and anyone flying with golf or instrument cases fill a mini coach’s rear space quickly. If bags are the problem, ask whether one 50-seater, with its much larger under-floor holds, solves it more simply than a mini coach plus a van. At 1,450 against 1,100 plus 900, it often does. The 50 seater page covers it.
An example only. Twenty guests of a travel company land on one morning flight at DXB, each with one suitcase and a day bag.
Read the big group arrival guide for what happens before the group reaches the vehicle.
Booking the lowest price on paper and ignoring the bags. Leaving out staff from the count. Choosing a Sprinter because it looks smart on the quote, then finding it holds 16. Forgetting that the hotel coach bay might be 300 metres from the lobby. And booking one vehicle for a group that will actually split at lunch.
Starting prices cover a full day of up to 10 hours within Dubai, with driver and fuel. Shorter jobs, airport runs and days outside Dubai are priced on the quote. Compare every option on the price page and ask for a fixed written quote for your date, route and hours.
Twenty adults in a mini coach is comfortable. Twenty adults in two vans is cramped unless you take the extra seat each van has spare. Twenty adults in a 50-seater feels empty, and a group that rattles around loses the shared feeling of the trip.
Think about ages as well. A party of 20 retirees will want easy steps, a seat near the door and frequent stops. A party of 20 students will want music and fewer rules. Tell us who is travelling and we can match the vehicle to the group.
The driver loads bags, keeps to the route, parks where the venue allows and waits for the time you set. The driver does not act as a guide, does not book tickets and does not decide where the group eats. A group leader who expects the driver to run the day will be disappointed.
If you want a guide, bring one or hire one separately. The driver can still point out a building and answer a quick question, but the commentary is yours.
Twenty people rarely wait in the same place. Some will be at the hotel lobby, some at a breakfast table, some on the way down. Name a meeting point, a time and a person who counts. At a hotel with several doors, say which one. At a venue with a car park, give the nearest landmark. The driver can then park close and the group can find the coach without a phone call.
If the group starts from two hotels close together, a single vehicle can do both in about 20 minutes. If the hotels are across the city from each other, plan one gathering point instead. It costs the guests a short taxi or walk, and it saves the group an hour.
For the return, agree the exact pick-up bay with the venue. A coach that waits on a side road while the group stands at the front entrance is a common cause of a missed departure.
Send the headcount, the maximum, the bags and the addresses through the booking page. If you are planning a larger group, the 40 people page shows the next size up.
If you are comparing quotes from several operators, ask each of them for the same three things: the vehicle type and seat count, the hours included, and what the figure leaves out. A low number that covers six hours is not cheaper than a higher one that covers ten.
Our approach is the same for every group: a fixed written quote, with the vehicle and the hours named.
| Vehicle | Seats | Per hour | Full day (up to 10 hours) | Monthly staff route |

Quick answers for this trip.
Usually one mini coach, which seats 22 to 30 and costs from AED 1,100 per day. Heavy luggage or a split group can change that.
No. A Sprinter seats up to 16. For 20 you need a mini coach, a 50-seater or two vans.
For seats, yes. For luggage, sometimes no. If everyone has a large suitcase plus equipment, the bigger holds can make it the simpler choice.
Around 20 medium suitcases in the mini coach, about 10 in a 13-seater van and about 12 in a Sprinter.
From AED 900 per day each at starting prices, so from AED 1,800 for two. The quote confirms the real figure.
Yes. Guides, leaders and drivers’ assistants take seats. The driver does not.
On a day booking, yes. Waiting is part of the booked hours.
For airport pick-ups, yes. Send every flight number and the driver tracks the landing time.
