Thirty-one to fifty people, one coach.
A full-size coach keeps a big group on one timetable, with a luggage hold for the bags. It is also the hardest vehicle to place. Here is what it takes, and what it cannot reach.

What one coach takes
The 50-seater coach has reclining seats, each with a seat belt, strong air-conditioning and a PA system. Two long holds under the floor take about one medium suitcase per passenger, so nothing has to stand in the aisle. Seats are passenger seats and the driver is not counted. Bags are medium suitcases, roughly 65 to 70 cm tall.
Below 31 the mini coach is usually the better fit. Above 50 you need a second vehicle. Between the two the coach is the only single vehicle that works, and it works best when the group stays together all day. The comparison with the smaller sizes is in the guide to HiAce, Sprinter, Coaster and 50-seater.

Get a quoteLeaders take seats: three sums
48 guests, 48 suitcases and 2 leaders. That is 50 people for 50 seats, and 48 of 50 bag places. The coach is full in both senses. A tour guide who joins on day two makes 51, and the group is one over.
36 guests, 36 suitcases and 5 golf bags. The 36 cases leave 14 bag places. A golf bag takes the room of several suitcases, so five bags may fit and may not. Tell us the count and we confirm in your quote.
40 guests, 40 suitcases. One coach seats and carries them, with 10 seats and 10 bag places spare. Two mini coaches carry about 40 bags between them, and seat 44 to 60 depending on the vehicles assigned. That works on paper but gives you two drivers, two loading points and a bare minimum of room for the bags.
The rule from the sums: add everyone who needs a seat, leaders and guides included, not just the guests. Then count the bags. When either number reaches 50, add a second vehicle.
One coach, a smaller pair, or more than one
A single coach wins when the group stays together all day, when the programme is one venue, and when the hotel and venue can take a full-size vehicle. Two smaller vehicles win when the group sleeps in different places, when part of the programme is somewhere a coach cannot reach, or when half the group leaves early.
Above 50, we plan the extra vehicle. For 51 to 80 people we usually send a 50-seater and a mini coach. For 81 to 100 we send two 50-seaters. Two drivers and two loading points keep the hall or the hotel lobby moving, and one can leave early with the people who need to get back. The coach rental page has the full table.
What a full-size coach cannot reach
This is the question the page title asks, and the honest answer is that it depends on the place. A coach needs room to turn and a bay to stop in. It does not fit every hotel porte-cochère, villa street or beach-club gate, and the mini coach does. Some resort entrances sit behind a security gate.
- Hotels with a tight forecourt: confirm the drop-off with the hotel before the day. We do that as part of the plan, and if the coach must stop in a bay at the side, the driver tells your group leader before anyone steps off.
- Attractions and venues: the coach uses the coach bay or the designated drop-off, which is sometimes a short walk from the main entrance. Warn anyone who struggles with distance.
- The airport: large vehicles usually wait in a designated area, not at the front kerb. The driver tells the group leader where.
- The desert: a coach can use a good graded track in the dry. It cannot use soft sand. Ask the camp in writing whether a coach of this size can reach the entrance.
- Day trips: for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque the coach uses the mosque’s designated parking and the driver waits. See the Grand Mosque day trip page.
We never assume a bay. If a venue has its own access plan, send it and the driver works to it.
Timing a coach day
Fifty people take longer to board than anyone expects. Allow around ten minutes per pick-up without luggage and fifteen to twenty when the cases go into the holds. If three hotels sit within a few minutes of each other, ask guests to gather at one.
Give a meeting point and a time, not a duration. The driver is there on time, and the leader counts heads. The PA is useful for the leader or a guide. The driver is not a licensed guide.
Landing with a group this size
For a party of 31 to 50 the airport is a stream, not an event. Our big group arrival guide suggests allowing 60 to 90 minutes from landing to the coach and about fifteen minutes between the meeting point and the coach pulling away. Pre-booked vehicles generally cannot wait at the arrivals kerb.
Send the flight numbers, the landing terminal, the headcount, the suitcase count and the leader’s phone number. We track every flight. If two flights land more than two hours apart, we suggest sending the first group on and bringing the second separately. The group airport transfer page covers split arrivals at DXB and DWC.
Asking for a quote
Use the booking page. Tell us the headcount with leaders, the bags with anything oversized, the hotels and the days. We reply with a fixed written quote naming the vehicle. See what is in a bus rental quote to read it line by line.

Frequently asked.
Quick answers for this trip.
Does a single 50-seater take 50 people and their luggage?
It seats 50 and its under-floor holds take about one medium suitcase per passenger. Leaders and guides take seats too, so count everyone before you decide.
Where can a 50-seater not go?
It needs room to turn and a bay to stop in, so some hotel forecourts, villa streets, resort gates and soft sand are out. We confirm the drop-off point before the day.
What if we are 51 or more?
We usually send a 50-seater and a mini coach for 51 to 80, and two 50-seaters for 81 to 100. Tell us the headcount and we plan the pair.
Is a coach better than two mini coaches for 40 people?
For one programme, one coach keeps everyone together and has spare bag room. Two mini coaches suit a group that splits, but they carry about 40 bags between them, which is no spare at all.
Does the coach have a microphone?
Yes. Every full-size coach has a PA system. Tour leaders and teachers tend to use it more than they expect.
Can the coach take a golf group?
Golf bags take the room of several suitcases, so count them separately and tell us. We confirm the fit in the quote.
Do you sell tickets or arrange guides?
No. We provide the coach and the driver. Our drivers are not licensed guides, so bring one if you want commentary.
How much does a coach cost?
Ask for a fixed written quote. It depends on the date, the route and the hours, and we put it in writing before you accept.
