Eid and Whitsun, in the same week.
A German, Dutch or British group that plans a Dubai trip around Ascension and Whitsun in May 2027 may find the UAE’s Eid Al Adha holiday in the same days. The date is a forecast, because it follows the moon. Here is the official rule, the expected dates, where the European holidays fall against them, what past RTA notices show, and how to book transfers that survive a one-day shift.
The UAE rule
The UAE Government portal lists Arafah Day, the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah, as a public holiday. It lists Eid Al Adha as the 10th to the 12th of Dhu al-Hijjah, three days. It says Islamic holidays follow moon sighting, so the exact day is only known close to the date.
A federal rule, Cabinet Resolution 27 of 2024, Article 3, says a public holiday that falls on a weekend or on another holiday is not moved to another day. We read the portal page, updated on 29 October 2026.

Gulf News, in a piece updated on 16 October 2026, reports a four-day holiday for Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha, expected from Saturday 15 to Tuesday 18 May 2027. That is one source for the date, so we call it a forecast. We do not say Eid is on 15 May. The moon could move the days by one, and the final dates are announced late.
Several events in the region were postponed or cancelled in 2026. Check the announcements close to your date. If the dates change, we adjust a quote.
Where Whitsun and the school breaks fall
The Eid forecast and the Whit weekend overlap. This table lays the European dates against the forecast. The Eid row is a forecast, the Whit and Ascension rows are our calculation from the Western church calendar, and the school rows are from the official tables.

The KMK table also lists bridge days of 14 to 18 May in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and 15 to 22 May in Saxony-Anhalt. The German states set their own dates, so check your own state. We did not open school dates for other countries.
What past RTA notices show
We could not find a Dubai Roads and Transport Authority notice for Eid Al Adha 2026, and none exists yet for 2027. For a pattern, we read the notices for other holidays. The Eid Al Fitr 2026 notice was dated 16 March 2026 for a holiday that began on Thursday 19 March, so it came three days ahead. It said the Metro ran from 05:00 to 01:00 the next morning on most days, public parking was free for the first three days except in multi-storey car parks, and bus E100 from Al Ghubaiba did not run for part of the holiday. The Prophet’s Birthday notice of 28 August 2026 showed a similar pattern.
That is a 2026 precedent for different holidays. It is not a 2027 timetable, and the notice speaks of public parking, so it makes no claim about a coach or a private vehicle. Time, light and heat in May
The UAE has no daylight saving. In May 2027 it is 3 hours ahead of the UK, 2 hours ahead of Germany and the Netherlands, and 5 hours behind Japan. These are our calculated figures. The full table is in our time difference guide.
On 16 May the sun rises at about 05:34 and sets at about 18:56, by our calculation. The World Meteorological Organization’s older long-term averages for Dubai give a May daytime high of about 36.8 C and a night low of about 23.5 C. What we could not find
We found no RTA hours for 2027, no attraction opening hours for the holiday, and no official statement on the Eid dates. We do not state how busy the airport, hotels or roads will be, because we found no source. We do not claim that free holiday parking applies to coaches.
Planning the booking
Here is an example sum, not a promise. A Bavarian family group of 18 plans to fly in when Pfingstferien begin on Tuesday 18 May, which is the last day of the forecast holiday. If the moon moves the holiday by a day, it ends on 19 May instead. Your flight does not move, so build the booking on the flight number and time, not on the holiday date.

Notices for other 2026 holidays showed changed Metro hours, free public parking for three days and no E100 bus for part of the holiday. We found no notice for Eid Al Adha, so check the RTA close to your date.
